17 students, staff displaced following fire at Cheshire Academy
CHESHIRE, Conn. (WTNH) — Seventeen students and staff are displaced following a fire at Cheshire Academy early Tuesday morning, according to the resident assistant.
The fire happened around 4:50 a.m. on the second floor of a Main Street campus building, and it took about 35 minutes to get the fire under control, according to the Cheshire Fire Chief Jack Casner.

The building has a partial roof collapse some windows have been blown out.
Route 10 at Route 70 is closed due to the fire, according to the Department of Transportation.
The students and staff are being relocated on campus.
Mutual aid was provided by Southington and other departments.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
