Gone fishin'! Eagles escape winter chill on mid-season bye

There's been a common theme amongst the West Coast camp, with a bulk of players heading north in search of warmer weather and bigger fish as the Eagles enjoy a mid-season break. While some are enjoying some quiet time, Jack Graham and Elijah Hewett have been busy vlogging their trip up north, launching a TikTok account, heweynfridge, to document their journey with the pair certainly enjoying the sun as temperatures plummet in Perth. Ruckman Callum Jamieson and Jack Hutchinson have also headed north, while Harley Reid was also spotted in the road train of the Eagles heading to the beach. Bucking the beach trend was Ryan Maric, who, after briefly joining his teammates on the beach, headed for the hills, enjoying some time with his partner Emily. Buhl Park stocking up on trout

HERMITAGE, Pa. (WKBN) — Pennsylvanians who fish should start loading up on bait or lures.A state fishery crew was helping stock a local waterway on Monday, throwing fish in the water where the fishermen will soon start throwing lines to catch them. Jack Graham was helping stock Lake Julia with trout, and some of those fish definitely caught his eyes. 'The orange Palominos, the big, big orange ones,' Graham said. He will definitely return to fish in these waters when the season opens. He wasn't the only one throwing fish into the waters. The stocking drew a big crowd, and volunteers are always welcome to spread the trout. 'This was a big group we haven't seen, I don't think a group this big in a few years, so we're excited,' said Katie Nowland, the Buhl Park director of environmental education. The Fish and Boat Commission was stocking rainbow trout and golden trout. They were about 11 inches in length and weighing a half-pound. It's releasing over 3 million statewide. 'You can see the fish, see the size of those fish that go in this lake,' Nowland said. 'You wouldn't think a lake this size would have fish that big.' It's important for Lake Julia to have these fish. But it's also important statewide. The fish will be released in 691 streams and 130 lakes open to public fishing. The trout have some time to get accustomed to their new home, but fishing season is coming soon. It's a highlight of the activities at Buhl Park. 'Every day there's so many, multiple people usually appear around the point. People around in the shell of hearts. Fishing doesn't matter the weather. People are out here almost every day. Blows my mind,' Nowland said. Saturday is a monitored youth fishing day, but the fishing season for everyone in Pennsylvania opens April 5. Anglers need to have a fishing license and a trout permit. Lake Glacier in Mill Creek Park is set to get stocked with rainbow trout Wednesday. Other Ohio fish stockings sorted by location and species can be found here. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
