Pirates drop first of three to Roadrunners, double-header slated for Saturday
GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — ECU's baseball team started its last home in-conference series of the year Friday night, May 9, 2025, versus UTSA.
Ethan Norby took the mound for ECU and allowed four runs on four hits after ECU had a 1-0 lead early.
The Roadrunners got four runs in the fifth inning and tacked on another in the sixth. UTSA got more insurance with three runs in the eighth inning, stretching the lead to 8-1 and an eventual 8-5 victory.
The Pirates got some more runs on the board after a pair of two-run doubles from Jack Herring and John Collins.
The loss drops the Pirates to 27-22 overall on the year. The two teams will play each other again in a double-header Saturday at 2 p.m.
