Silent Witness is a show about forensic pathologists and their personal and professional challenges moving from crime scene to lab. The previous season of Silent Witness saw fan favourites Nikki Alexander and Jack Hodgson get married and ended on a cliffhanger. St. Paul's Church is not the only Birmingham location planned as crew confirmed the city will be used as a predominant filming location in Season 29. In 2023, the BBC announced future seasons of Silent Witness would be filmed in the West Midlands as a commitment to produce outside of London. Silent Witness follows Masterchef in making the move to Birmingham and today's day of filming in the Jewellery Quarter is an example of that.
