McRae man arrested on animal cruelty charges

MCRAE, Ark. – McRae Police Chief Dakota Burks confirmed the arrest of Jack Moore on two counts of animal cruelty after a month-long investigation stemming from multiple community complaints. Moore was apprehended Friday at 11 a.m. in Bald Knob by the Bald Knob Police Department after being located at his brother's residence. McRae police investigating 'pure evil' animal cruelty case Chief Burks stated that Moore had been 'irate' at the time of his arrest and claimed the charges were false. Despite his denial, McRae police say they gathered sufficient evidence to move forward with charges. The case began after several complaints from local residents, including reports of missing cats and suspicious behavior. 'You can't arrest someone based solely on a complaint,' Burks said. 'That's why we opened a full investigation. What we found provided enough evidence to believe animal cruelty had occurred.' According to Burks, the most serious accusation against Moore is that he allegedly threw a live cat into the street, resulting in paralysis of the animal. 'There's no evidence he threw it over the house, as some had speculated,' Burks clarified. 'But there is credible evidence, including witness statements, that he did throw the cat into the street.' In total, five to six cats have been reported missing in the area. McRae Police also recovered a pellet rifle believed Moore had used in harming the animals. Testing is ongoing to determine whether the pellets found in or near the injured animals match the rifle. Moore appeared before a judge Friday and has since been released on bond. His first court date is set for June 9 at 2 p.m. He faces two felony counts of animal cruelty. The McRae Police Department has stated they are committed to upholding the law and ensuring a fair trial. McRae man speaks out against allegations of animal abuse Family members and local residents have spoken out about Moore's behavior, painting a picture of someone they say has long had issues with animals. 'He's never really cared for animals,' said Josh Kamer, Moore's son-in-law. 'If you watch his YouTube, you can see his harassing mentality.' Kamer alleged that Moore baited cats with traps in the front yard while blaming them for attacking rabbits kept in the backyard. 'Your rabbits are dying from neglect and predators, not cats,' he said. Moore's own mother, Mary Moore, expressed concern about his actions, recounting times when her son would check his traps and return to the house to grab his pellet gun if something was caught. 'If it's a snake, that's one thing,' she said. 'But not domesticated animals.' The arrest has brought a sense of relief to some in the community, Kamer said. 'No cats have gone missing since he's been gone,' said Kamer. 'And people on Lynn Street are happy. There might even be a parade.' The White County Sheriff's Office jail records confirm Moore's release on bond. Moore replied to a request for comment saying he could not talk at the moment on Friday. Kitten found tied in bag sparks outcry, push for stronger laws against animal cruelty in North Little Rock This case has brought renewed focus to animal welfare in McRae, a small but tight-knit community, said Burks. 'We do our best to serve and protect,' Burks said. 'And cruelty to animals simply has no place here.' In a statement to FOX 16 News, Jack Moore said, 'the McRae Court is not a court of record and seeing how my civil rights have been violated by this judge and prosecutor, every decision from this court will be appealed to higher courts and won. Mixed fortunes for karting star Jack Moore in Spain

Young karting sensation Jack Moore finished in 14th place overall in the final of the opening round of the three-round FIA Karting Academy Trophy Series that was held in Valencia in Spain at the Lucas Guerrero International Kart Circuit at the weekend. Moore had qualified in 14th place out of 36 karts that had progressed to the finals. Unfortunately for Moore, the engine that he drew for the qualifying session that determines your grid position for the entire weekend was unfortunately 4km/h slower than the other pool motors, which meant that he would be starting in 14th for all three of the elimination heats. In race one, he managed a seventh-place finish, which he followed up with a 10th place in race two, setting the second quickest lap time in race one and third fastest in race two and then finished 11th in race three earning him a spot in the finals, starting in 15th place on the grid. In the final, Emma-Rose Dowling, the only other South African taking part, unfortunately, was an early casualty after tangling with another competitor, which led to her retirement from the race. Moore had a brilliant start and had progressed up to 12th place, but unfortunately, after four laps, a faulty electrical coil caused the motor to misfire, which led to him losing a few places to finish 14th. The FIA Karting Academy Trophy takes place over three rounds, with the next round being in Germany from July 17-20, followed by the final round in Italy from September 25-28. The Herald

Jack Moore to fly SA flag in Italy

Following his older brother Joshua's success at Aldo Scribante Raceway last weekend, where Joshua claimed his first VW Rookie Cup win, Jack Moore has jetted to Spain to take part in the FIA Academy Trophy event that takes place at the Lucas Guerrero International Kart Circuit in Valencia this weekend. As the current OK-J class champion, Moore is one of only two South Africans who have been selected to take part in this prestigious event and teams up with young lady racer Emma-Rose Dowling in the Rok South Africa team. Since its launch in 2010, the FIA Karting Academy Trophy has established itself as an essential scouting and training ground for young motorsport talent, and each year, drivers from 40 different countries on five continents get the opportunity to compete on equal terms in identical go-karts. Chassis and engines are strictly identical and are allocated by drawing lots, with the engines being exchanged amongst the competitors several times during the event, ensuring fairness throughout. The likes of current Formula One drivers Charles Leclerc, Esteban Ocon and George Russell are all products of the FIA Karting Academy and the event is seen as a major asset in moving up to higher echelons of motorsport, with many talent spotters in attendance. The FIA Karting Academy Trophy takes place over three rounds with the next round being in Germany from July 17-20 followed by the final round in Italy from September 25-28. Upcoming events: May 16: Mercedes-Benz W114/115 display at EP Veteran Car Club in Conyngham Road May 18: Distinguished Gentleman's Ride at Valley Road Motorcycles May 24: Kart racing at Algoa Kart Club, round four; Enduro, Rover Motorcycle Club round 2 at Innibos, Despatch May 25: American Classics Show day at EP Veteran Car Club in Conyngham Road May 31: Dirt Oval Racing at PEOTR on Mission Road; Drag Racing at Aldo Scribante Raceway. Reform UK take down Stockport website using AI-generated supporters

Reform UK's Stockport branch has been accused of misleading Stockport residents after it used AI generated testimonials and images on its website. The webpage - - used cartoonish images and names of people who appeared to be created by AI along with generic labels such as "community leader" and "business owner." One supporter who was quoted on the website, named 'Jane Doe', said the local party had 'transformed our community with their forward-thinking policies' – without mention of any specific actions or achievements. The website also used a picture of Manhattan, New York, in a statement about its vision for Stockport. The interim chair for Stockport's Reform UK branch Jack Moore said the website was "accidentally made available" and that the images and quotes were "placeholders" whilst real testimonials were being gathered. On Wednesday 30 April, Reform UK took the website down after they were contacted by the Local Democracy Reporting Service. Conservative Councillor Peter Crossen accused Reform of misleading Stockport residents with 'AI platitudes.' He said: 'If they can't be bothered to write their own website, why should anyone trust them to deliver real change? 'Nothing says 'I care about my community' quite like a stock image of Times Square and a series of spurious claims about 'infrastructure improvements' and 'changing lives'. 'Myself and my Conservative colleagues will continue making a difference in our communities, engaging with residents, and knocking on doors. I'd love to see how they could get AI to do that for them.' Jack Moore, of Stockport Reform UK, said: 'The Reform Stockport website is currently under development. 'The images, names, and wording are filler only, purely for internal, illustrative purposes and there as placeholders whilst genuine content is being developed. 'The website has accidentally been made available for the public to see, but has now been taken down. The website will be formally launched in the near future.' He added that the criticism by Councillor Crossen could be part of 'an anxiety about facing Reform UK at the ballot box in next May's local elections.' 'Reform UK are building our branch and our team in the Stockport area to offer local people a real alternative to the Lib Dem-Labour-Conservative uniparty offering.'
