Here's how the Saskatchewan Roughriders legally rejigger their CFL roster

Players receive full salaries and are technically free agents who can get wooed away by rival teams. The Roughriders hope offensive lineman Jacob Brammer can play in Hamilton after spending Thursday's 31-26, season-opening victory over the Ottawa Redblacks on Saskatchewan's one-game list. They receive full salaries but the money doesn't count against each team's $6.02 million salary cap. If the injury isn't too severe, teams can re-activate players early, but their salaries retroactively count against the cap. The Roughriders placed linebacker C.J.
