At least 3 cars damaged in parking structure fire at Disneyland Resort Friday
An SUV caught fire Friday morning in a parking structure that serves the Disneyland resort in Anaheim and it spread to at least two more vehicles before the flames were put out. The fire was reported at 9:47 a.m. Friday in the Pixar Pals parking structure, Anaheim police Sgt. Jacob Gallacher told City News Service. That location is off Disneyland Drive and north of Magic Way. The vehicle of origin was a Toyota RAV4, Gallacher said. Anaheim Fire Department firefighters put out the flames, he said. At least three vehicles were damaged, including the RAV4.

Just before 10 a.m. PT on Friday, the Anaheim Fire Department responded to a call about an on-fire vehicle on the fifth level of the Pixar Pals Parking Structure, located on the northwest side of the amusement park, Anaheim Police and Fire Public Information Officer Sgt. Jacob Gallacher told USA TODAY. No injuries were reported, he added. Initially, police believed the fire originated from a Toyota RAV4, but Gallacher told USA TODAY on Friday afternoon that the fire is actually believed to have started inside the engine of a Kia Sportage SUV. The exact cause of the fire remains unknown. Between six to 12 neighboring cars sustained damage from the fire, ranging from smoke damage to undrivable, Gallacher added. No areas of the Disneyland Resort theme park were damaged, but Gallacher said some "operations" were temporarily closed Friday morning. He did not specify what these operations were, but said as of 1:30 p.m. PT, levels 1-3 of the Pixar Pals Parking Structure had reopened. Operations at the Pixar Pals Parking Structure were temporarily paused on Friday but have been reopening in phases, Disneyland Resort spokesperson Jessica Jakary told USA TODAY. Upon arrival at the Disney property, they found a Toyota RAV4 ablaze on the fifth floor of the Pixar Pals structure, and the flames spread to an additional three vehicles after that. Sgt. Gallacher says the fire was "extinguished as quickly as" crews could put water on it, but estimates that between 6-12 cars were damaged in total. He further tells EW that "nobody was injured," but the structure — as well as the nearby Mickey & Friends parking structure — was temporarily closed to prevent ingress for anyone coming into the park. Now, Sgt. Gallacher says that portions of the Pixar Pals structure have now reopened, and that the scene was turned back over to Disneyland control at around 12:00 p.m. local time. Video circulating online shows black smoke billowing from the Pixar Pals parking structure, which is located on Disneyland property, but is not directly connected to the Disneyland theme park or the Disney California Adventure park. EW has reached out to Disneyland representatives for fire comes days after a fire broke out at the France pavilion inside Walt Disney World's Epcot theme park in Florida, with the March blaze starting near a walk-in cooler in a backstage area not accessible to guests. Video recorded and shared to TikTok during that incident shows English performer Peter Noone singing on stage at the park's America pavilion while smoke fills the area. The 77-year-old turns toward the blaze and exclaims, "France is on fire!" while the crowd chuckles at the observation, which came amid the park's Flower & Garden festival, an annual highly attended springtime event that draws major crowds to Epcot.
