Leipzig, Wolfsburg Compete to Sign Coach Jacob Neestrup

Berlin – SABA: Media reports have revealed that German club RB Leipzig is interested in appointing Danish coach Jacob Neestrup as the team's new head coach. Neestrup, 37, is also reportedly a candidate for the managerial position at another Bundesliga club, VfL Wolfsburg. According to Kicker and Sport Bild newspapers on Tuesday, Leipzig's sporting director, Marcel Schäfer, has reached out to Neestrup. Leipzig, who failed to qualify for European competitions for the first time, is seeking a new manager to replace interim coach Zsolt Löw. Löw (46) had taken over after the sacking of Marco Rose in March. Rose has since returned to assist Jürgen Klopp in the sports management team of the Red Bull club group at the end of the season.
