Trial underway for London man charged with string of weapons-related offences

A 28-year-old London man is on trial after being arrested more than two years ago by the London Police Guns and Gangs Unit.
Jacob Patrick Sturgeon faces about half a dozen weapons-related offences, including possession of a restricted firearm and tampering with serial numbers of a handgun.
In April of 2023, the unit raided an apartment in the Adelaide Street North and Queens Avenue area, making a seizure.
Sturgeon was arrested but has since been released on bail. However, he is being forced to wear an ankle monitor.
He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The trial is slated to last six days.
