Controversial Married At First Sight groom Ryan Donnelly shocks fans as he debuts his latest acting role after interim restraining order from TV "bride"

Controversial Married At First Sight groom Ryan Donnelly has shocked fans as he debuted his latest acting gig. It's understood the project manager, 36, has pursued acting amid reports he is unable to find work after Nine's reality hit finished airing in April. On Sunday, the reality star took to Instagram Stories to share a photo of himself dressed as a police officer for a new role. Ryan looked every inch the real-life cop, complete with his faux attire that included a badge, patches, a blue shirt, and a bulletproof vest. "We on," he wrote, along with a screenshot notifying his 19,000 followers his account has been verified with a blue badge. MAFS fan account mafsgossip quickly reshared the new gig along with two other of Ryan's past dress-ups. He could be seen rocking a 70's moustache in one, while the other showed him posing with claws and a white tank top at a festival. Fans flocked to the comments section to say the MAFS star was well suited to the force. "He actually suits it," one person said. "Suits you. It's never too late to join the police force," another person said. It's not the first time the aspiring actor has stunned fans by posing as an officer. In March, one fan took to social media to point out Ryan's cameo appearance in the new BINGE Original Series The Last Anniversary. 'Just watching new series on BINGE, is this who I think it is? It's called The Last Anniversary,' they wrote, along with a screenshot of the star. The Last Anniversary, based on the book of the same title by author Liane Moriarty, is executive produced by Australian A-lister Nicole Kidman. The Campbelltown groom can be seen around 20 minutes into episode one, sporting a white shirt and muli-coloured jacket in an office scene. Ryan confirmed to Yahoo Lifestyle he played a 'simple police officer guarding the star patient in that episode'. 'Always amazing fun on sets like those,' he said. The role on BINGE isn't Ryan's first, as he has previously starred in Neighbours and NCIS: Sydney. The 36-year-old also appeared briefly on Nine's Beauty and the Geek in 2022. Earlier this year, he was spotted on the streets of Sydney acting in a major upcoming Hollywood horror film starring American actor Dylan O'Brien. Ryan could be seen strutting across a footpath dressed in a corporate navy blue suit, white shirt and tie for the gig. He was clean-shaven and completed the look with a carry bag and a pair of shiny black dress shoes. Ryan's tumultuous relationship with his on-screen wife Jacqui Burfoot dominated season 12 as the pair frequently fought and made up over seemingly mundane details like having a TV in the couple's bedroom. Jacqui also raised several concerns about Ryan's financial skills and his ability to contribute to their future family. The Kiwi bride suggested his career choice might not be "enough" financially. She later took to TikTok to clarify she raised the concerns about his acting ambitions, not his salary as a project manager. Ryan and Jacqui's rows spilled over into court around the time they dramatically ended their union at Final Vows in April. In March, Jacqui obtained an interim restraining order against Ryan, which prevented him from commenting on social media about her. Ryan subsequently applied for an Apprehended Domestic Violence Order (ADVO) against her. The matter was heard at Campbelltown Court House in April. Magistrate Shane McAnulty told the court he was unwilling to grant the order in Jacqui's absence and asked the parties to prepare submissions for the matter to return to court on Tuesday, June 24. has reached out to Ryan Donnelly for comment.

'We miss him every day': Torphins family raising awareness of bowel cancer in memory of dad and husband

An Aberdeenshire family is stepping out in memory of their dad and husband who lost his life to bowel cancer. David Laidlaw, from Torphins, was 45-years-old when he died in November last year. 'The girls and I miss him every day,' his wife, Jacqui Laidlaw, said. 'We lost our much-loved husband and amazing dad to bowel cancer. He was only 45, very fit and full of life. 'We wanted to do something positive in memory of David. 'And boost awareness and fund research into new ways to cure this disease.' On Sunday, Jacqui, 45, and her and David's oldest daughter, 14-year-old Jessica, will walk 18 miles in his memory. They will be joined by more than 10 friends for the Mighty Stride at this year's Aberdeen Kiltwalk to raise money for Bowel Cancer UK. The team of kilt-walkers have named themselves David's Dumb-Belles as a nod the dad-of-two's passion for fitness and strength training. 'The Torphins ladies have been out doing lots of training walks with the lighter evenings now, but it's been harder to get the wider group together all at once,' Jacqui said. 'I've received so many kind messages of support from staff and patients at my work which has been so lovely. 'We are determined to raise as much awareness as we can about bowel cancer and hope that all the money we raise will help people affected by this disease.' Ahead of the big day, the team has raised more than £6,000 – six times their original target. All of the money will go to Bowel Cancer UK which supports families impacted by bowel cancer, as well as funding research into the disease. Jacqui, who is also mum to Sophie, hopes they can spread awareness of the charity and the signs of bowel cancer while they walk from Banchory to Duthie Park. They will be surrounded by thousands of north-east walkers supporting charities close to their hearts – and in memory of their own loved ones. Bowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK with about 44,000 people diagnosed every year. The symptoms can include: Emma McGeever, from Bowel Cancer UK, said: 'Every 15 minutes someone gets a bowel cancer diagnosis. 'The money raised by David's Dumb-Belles will help us continue to raise awareness of the disease and its symptoms. 'As well as provide expert information and support to patients and their families, fund vital research, and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care. 'We hope that Jacqui and her team know the difference that their support will make, and we wish them all the best for the Kiltwalk this Sunday.'

A timeline of MAFSAU's Jacqui & Clint's life since leaving the show, from a whirlwind proposal to cast feuds

Season 12 of Married At First Sight has officially ended Down Under and on E4, but we're still not quite over everything that happened on the show, and after. This season was wild, from all the feuds, to the wild dinner parties, and couple swaps, including the biggest shocker of them all - Clint and Jacqui's engagement. Speaking of Jacqui and Clint... The couple have been super active since filming for the show ended. Jacqui now lives at Clint's Tasmanian home, and they've been defending their relationship left, right and centre. Read on for a detailed timeline on what they've been up to since the show ended. Shortly after filming wrapped on season 12, Jacqui and Clint got together. Ryan claimed that they'd been speaking from before the show ended and brought this up at the reunion. In an interview with Daily Mail Australia, he said: "She admitted to me one night, she's like, 'After one night when I was really upset, I actually called Clint at 3am'. They had a conversation over the phone about her being so upset with the experiment, with me, with Rhi, with everything." He continued: "My suspicions ended up being confirmed. After that, I was like, 'You've made a joke of our time here.' Literally," he added. "I could've taken the whole bitter, jaded side and been like, 'Oh, you were messaging him while we were still together.' Which is true." Nevertheless, a producer told Yahoo! that Clint and Jacqui "grew close towards the end of filming but didn't get together until after the season wrapped". Jacqui relocated to Tasmania in early February and has since moved in with Clint at his stunning home in Riverside, accompanied by their two Samoyeds Jacqui can often be seen making social media content from the palatial property, which has its own tennis court. In March 2025, Jacqui revealed that she'd left her corporate job at a high-end law firm in New South Wales, saying that people's opinion of her on the show had left her stressed to work "for at least two years." "I essentially left my job after I tried to go back to work because I was mentally distressed and couldn't work. I've been unable to continue my career… I've been left to fend on my own, basically," she told Sky. The same month, Clint made a dig at Ryan. In a video posted to his social media account, the 44-year-old was seen strolling around his Tasmanian estate. He then looked proudly at his $200,000 Porsche Macan and captioned the clip: "POV: He wanted to be great." Clint was making a reference to a moment in season 12 when Jacqui asked Ryan why he didn't want to be "great". Since leaving the show, the couple have been very vocal. As well as the their ongoing issues with Ryan, Jacqui's had some back and forth with Awhina Rutene, after Awhina said that her husband Adrian Araouzou would have been "better matched" with Jacqui. The couple are also said to have fallen out with Katie Johnstone, who is friends with former MAFS star and The Honesty Box host Lucinda Light. Lucinda shared her support for Ryan on her Instagram, and Jacqui and Clint both contacted her to tell her why she shouldn't do that, amid Jacqui's ongoing legal battle with Ryan. Lucinda removed the post, but according to Katie, their response "triggered a clap back, dragging Lu down, pulling me into it". Katie added that she didn't understand where their beef had come from because she reached out to the couple after their engagement and told them to visit her. She added: "She's [Jacqui] accusing me of tax fraud and theft, and that's just such a crazy thing to do given that I had to liquidate because of Covid. I lost everything during Covid. "The superannuation I'm paying off, which I've almost paid off by the way, is on a payment plan so there's no fraud there, it's insanity." Clint proposed to Jacqui during a viewing party for Married At First Sight Australia in Sydney. The event was attended by approximately 150 fans and fellow cast members. "I know we signed up for MAFS to get married and find a life-long partner. So I've got one question for you," Clint said, before popping the question. Jacqui accepted the proposal with a heartfelt "Yes!" The ring? Clint presented Jacqui with a custom-made 5.08-carat oval diamond solitaire ring set in platinum and 18ct yellow gold, valued at approximately $30,000 (£22,000). Later that month, Jacqui responded to rumours she's expecting a baby. "No, we are not expecting and I am not pregnant!' she wrote in the caption over the top of her fan message. "The media have been inaccurate on a lot and I don't have time to see it all, but they should really fact check on these things when it comes to this because I know it's a sensitive topic for a lot. "Come to me for the facts about my body, and Clint and I for our relationship news." In May, Jacqui and Clint revealed that they want to start a family. During an Instagram Story Q&A session with fans, the couple were asked about their wedding plans. Jacqui then revealed that they're hoping to tie the knot next year and are already talking babies. "We haven't set a wedding date yet, but we're hoping it will be between January and March next year,' she said as the couple sat on their couch together in Clint's lavish Tasmanian home," she said in the video. "We're actually ready for kids and babies. Personally, I want to get married before I get pregnant. I don't want to be dealing with the drama of being pregnant and having a wedding dress be altered throughout my pregnancy. We're very keen to get married ASAP." In a recent interview, Clint revealed that he fancied Jacqui before he married Lauren Hall on MAFSAU. As he was a late entrant to the show, Clint got to see the other relationships that had already formed and Jacqui caught his eye straight away. Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, he said: "Being an intruder going into the show, my audition was still happening when the original couples were actually already married. So I saw a few spoilers of who were the brides and grooms were and I did look through them. "And right even then, Jacqui caught my attention. I obviously was going to get married to someone else I didn't know so I was fully focused on my relationship in the experiment. But to be honest, when I saw the line up before I went in there, that was when Jacqui first got my attention for sure." Jacqui said she got "really good vibes" when she first met Clint, and loved that he was the complete opposite to all the other guys in the experiment. "It was like this, this guy's cool. Like I was surrounded by people who are very extra and extroverted and outspoken. And Clint came into the experiment like modest, humble, like down to earth and had a very cool, collected, calm aura about him," she added. Cute! 'Slowly fading away' - Living with young onset dementia

"The laughter is what I miss the most about Jacqui. She was a very able, confident person. [now] I see that slowly fading away."Paul's wife Jacqui was diagnosed with young onset dementia aged 57. He says it now "affects every single minute of every day".When someone develops dementia before the age of 65, this is known as young-onset dementia. According to the latest NHS figures, almost 1,000 people in Devon and Cornwall have a diagnosis, with over 3,200 in the wider South West region of and Jacqui have since sought support at a "wonderful" early onset dementia group run by Plymouth-based charity Memory Matters. Noticing the changes Paul said he started to notice Jacqui getting confused and forgetting things during a family trip away, just before his 60th birthday."Jacqui, who had always been exceptional at her work, and the go-to person, suddenly became the person who couldn't do her work. She was struggling, that was really alien to me."With Jacqui's symptoms initially thought to be due to the menopause, and after numerous medical tests, she was diagnosed with young onset Alzheimer's dementia in June Plymouth couple have two sons and have been married for almost 40 years. 'Jacqui's still Jacqui' Paul said his wife was now much quieter than she used to be and her condition affected every moment of daily life."She moves and walks slower. You have to constantly provide support in every area of what she does," he he said they both remained pragmatic about the said: "The future is what it is. You just have to pick up the pieces and deal with it. "Jacqui's signed up to a drug trial and we're going to travel at every opportunity until the day when we can't anymore. "We'll make the best of it and enjoy while we can."Jacqui's still Jacqui. We can still have a good time, it's just different. You have to stay positive."Jacqui said she "can't wait" to meet her first grandchild, a baby girl, due in early June. The couple have sought help through Plymouth-based charity Memory Matters since February commissioned to run groups in Cornwall, it provides dedicated, age-appropriate support through its tailored services, access to expert information and on-the-spot drop-in dementia advice, helping people live the best life they said, "It's really useful. You can talk openly about anything, as [we're] all going through the same thing. Jacqui seems to love it." To access such support, a diagnosis is vital, something which can become more complicated in later life. The NHS estimates at least one third of people in Devon and Cornwall with such conditions do not have Robertson, from the Alzheimer's Society, said: "Sometimes women can be misdiagnosed with the menopause or other conditions, such as depression or stress. At that age, there is a lot going on. "So it's really important to seek support, to rule out other things that can be treated."The Alzheimer's Society highlights the six main symptoms of dementia by using its online checklist NHS said: "Anyone with young onset dementia symptoms - which can include behaviour and personality changes and a decline in language skills - should speak to their GP."Young onset dementia is much rarer than in you or someone you know has been affected by this topic, you can visit the BBC Action Line website.

I felt guilty for snooping on my man's phone until I found his brags about romp with ‘sexy MILF' – her age stunned me

REACHING for her partner's phone Alanah Kemp scolded herself. 'It's pitch black outside, I should be asleep,' thought the 20-year-old, as she went to the WhatsApp app. 4 4 'I won't find anything. And this is snooping.' Still, while boyfriend Jay Stevenson slept soundly beside her, she couldn't help but look. A few days earlier, as they'd settled down to watch a film, a message from a woman called Jacqui* had pinged up. Office worker Jay, also 20, had quickly put his phone away but it had planted seeds of doubt in Alanah's mind. So, at 2am, she opened his phone. There were no messages from Jacqui. 'I was so relieved,' she says. 'I felt silly for doubting him and guilty for snooping. But just to be sure I went to the message strand he shared with his best friend.' 'It was just usual boy stuff,' she says. 'Football chat and plans to meet at the pub. I felt so much better." But then, just as she was putting his phone back on his nightstand, she saw evidence which, to this day, makes the mum-of-one sick to her stomach. 'Jay was bragging about sleeping with another woman,' she says. 'He said she 'wasn't even that fit' and was 37. 'That was nearly double my age. He was having sex with someone who could've been his mum. 'His friend asked 'don't you feel guilty about Alanah?' and he said: 'No, I like having sex with the MILF more'. Spotting the signs your partner is cheating 'It broke my heart.' Full-time mum Alanah, 20, met Jay after he added her on Snapchat in autumn 2021. 'I didn't know Jay, but I was curious, so I accepted his friend request,' she says. And as I swiped through his profile, I was glad I did. He was really handsome and I loved his sexy stubble. 'A few months later, he contacted me, writing 'I know you don't know me, but you look lovely. I wanted to say hi.' 'I thought it was really forward, but I did also think he was so good-looking, so I nervously wrote back, 'You're not so bad yourself!' 'After that initial exchange, things became easier and we spent the entire night talking via Snapchat before moving to video call. We discussed random things including movies and our favourite video game. "I found out he'd discovered me randomly via a location algorithm. When I found out he lived with his parents on the other side of Glasgow I didn't hesitate to accept after he suggested we meet in person.' The pair met for a walk and their spark via messaging translated into real-life chemistry. 'I felt so comfortable with him,' she says. 'I didn't think it was weird we'd met via Snapchat. It's no different to connecting with someone via Hinge or Bumble, and my friends all felt the same. 'As soon as I saw him I thought 'wow he's good-looking.' He was charming and confident but as we chatted more I could see, while he was charismatic, he also had a softer, gentler side.' On New Year's Eve 2022 he asked me to become his girlfriend and I immediately said yes. The icing on the cake was when I found out I was pregnant. Our daughter arrived on Boxing Day 2023, weighing 6lb 9oz, and she was wonderful. 4 'He was a great dad and it felt perfect,' she says. 'We were virtually inseparable and would love going to the cinema and out for meals. I lived with my parents too but in August 2024 we moved in together with my mum.' Alanah says Jay was 'really excited.' 'He would say 'I can't wait to wake up to you every morning.'' she says. 'I would joke back, ''More like you want me to do your washing.' But the truth was I was really happy. We would watch films and telly every night. For a year it was brilliant - me, Jay and our little girl.' 'She's just a friend' In early 2024, they were about to watch a film, snuggled on the sofa, when his phone pinged and a WhatsApp from Jacqui came up. 'I didn't recognise the name,' she says. 'It felt like the name of an older woman and it certainly wasn't anyone I knew. "I asked him about it and he fobbed me off quickly, saying 'just a friend' before putting his phone away. 'I didn't push it as I chatted to my friends all the time but I was a bit confused. Jay had never mentioned a new friend called Jacqui before and I thought I saw 'can't wait to see you' in her message. 'I only got a momentary glance at his phone though and I tried to tell myself I was being silly and put it behind me. But I hadn't been wholly convinced by Jay's response and it nagged at me.' It was just a few nights later she decided to snoop, unable to put her doubts behind her and not fully trusting Jay's denials. It was there she discovered the truth. 'Seeing the thread with his best friend made me feel sick,' she says. 'But I was desperate not to wake Jay so I put my hand over my mouth because I thought I was going to scream. Still I had so many questions whirring around my head. Mainly, I wanted to know if he had been cheating the entire time.' Still, she opted not to tell him what she'd seen - instead getting ready for work at a local football stadium as normal and carrying on with her day as he woke in the morning. But once there, she couldn't resist confronting him, WhatsApping: 'We need to talk… I know all about Jacqui. What are you playing at?' He responded immediately and they planned to discuss it as soon as she got home, leaving her fretful the entire day. 'It was horrible,' she says. As she arrived home at 3pm, Jay admitted everything. 'He told me: 'I'm sorry. I cheated, but I'm sorry. Forgive me',' she says. 'He was clearly upset - but so was I and I wanted answers. I listened in stunned horror as Jay explained he'd met her on a night out in a pub with his workmates. After chatting with her, he'd gone back to her house for sex. 'Joining up the dots in my head, I realised that I'd stayed at Jay's house that night, sleeping in his bed as I waited for him to come home. 'When he'd rolled in the next day, he told me he'd slept on his mate's floor. 'Then Jay confessed that he'd gone on to have a six-month affair with the 'filthy MILF' as he and his pals called her. I was horrified.' She says she was desperate to leave and 'couldn't stand the sight of him' but he begged her to stay and in the end she gave in. 'But I knew in the morning I would leave,' she says. Four red flags your partner is cheating Private Investigator Aaron Bond from BondRees revealed four warning signs your partner might be cheating. They start to take their phone everywhere with them In close relationships, it's normal to know each other's passwords and use each other's phones, if their phone habits change then they may be hiding something. Aaron says: "If your partner starts changing their passwords, starts taking their phone everywhere with them, even around the house or they become defensive when you ask to use their phone it could be a sign of them not being faithful." "You should also look at how they place their phone down when not in use. If they face the phone with the screen facing down, then they could be hiding something." They start telling you less about their day When partners cheat they can start to avoid you, this could be down to them feeling guilty or because it makes it easier for them to lie to you. "If you feel like your partner has suddenly begun to avoid you and they don't want to do things with you any more or they stop telling you about their day then this is another red flag." "Partners often avoid their spouses or tell them less about their day because cheating can be tough, remembering all of your lies is impossible and it's an easy way to get caught out," says Aaron. Their libido changes Your partner's libido can change for a range of reasons so it may not be a sure sign of cheating but it can be a red flag according to Aaron. Aaron says: "Cheaters often have less sex at home because they are cheating, but on occasions, they may also have more sex at home, this is because they feel guilty and use this increase in sex to hide their cheating. You may also find that your partner will start to introduce new things into your sex life that weren't there before." They become negative towards you Cheaters know that cheating is wrong and to them, it will feel good, this can cause tension and anxiety within themselves which they will need to justify. "To get rid of the tension they feel inside they will try to convince themselves that you are the problem and they will become critical of you out of nowhere. Maybe you haven't walked the dog that day, put the dishes away or read a book to your children before bedtime. A small problem like this can now feel like a big deal and if you experience this your partner could be cheating," warns Aaron. 'I couldn't move past it. But after I'd drifted off to sleep, Jay woke me in the middle of the night, crying. I'd never seen him cry before and a whole new vulnerable side of him emerged. 'He was genuinely devastated at the thought of losing me and although I was heartbroken, it was then that I began to believe that we could get through this.' Now the couple are as happy as ever, but Alanah says it wasn't easy to rebuild the trust. 'Over time I started to forgive him,' she says. 'Sometimes I'm still anxious but he knows what our little family is worth. 'We're on Life360, a tracker app, so I know where he is at all points. He also phones when he's on a night out - not that he has many. 'It hasn't been easy to rebuild the trust between us since then, but Jay has worked really hard at it and he's definitely worth it.' Jay says: 'Yep, yes (I cheated on Alanah with a MILF). Yep (the story is accurate as described to him). No, not really (I don't want to add anything).'
