'I feel compelled to respond to attempts to link our President to claims involving political funding and the mining industry in Sabah. These are merely political games as we approach the state election,' he said. Jafery defended Jeffrey's decades-long leadership and commitment to the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), saying 'every fruitful tree gets stoned, but its roots remain strong even in a storm.' He highlighted Jeffrey's sacrifices, including spending 2 years and 7 months in prison for standing up for Sabah's rights. 'We've stood with him for over 30 years. His leadership is rooted in the people and will not fall to a storm of perception,' he stressed. Jafery rejected the unproven allegations as part of a coordinated effort to weaken Jeffrey's legacy, stating that real justice must be left to the authorities like the MACC, free from political and media pressure. * Follow us on our official WhatsApp channel and Telegram for breaking news alerts and key updates! * Do you have access to the Daily Express e-paper and online exclusive news?
