One dead and two injured after crash in Rockbridge County

ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Virginia State Police is investigating a fatal two-car accident that happened on Wednesday, June 4, around 3:06 p.m. on East Midland Trail in Rockbridge County. According to police, a 2018 Jaguar XF failed to yield the right of way while entering East Midland Trail and was struck by a 2012 Honda Civic traveling east of Midland Trail. 78-year-old Melodie Vohar was identified as the driver of the Jaguar and was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. She died on the scene. The 78-year-old passenger was not hurt. The 19-year-old driver of the Honda and the 24-year-old passenger were not wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash and were hurt. They were taken to a local hospital. The occupants of the Jaguar, a 35-year-old man and his 13-year-old passenger, did not require medical treatment. Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information about the crash to contact them.
