YouTuber pays Rs 3,500 for omelette at Bangkok stall, reveals why in viral video

An Indian YouTuber walked into a Michelin-starred roadside restaurant in Bangkok to try their legendary crab omelette that cost him around Rs 3,500. He documented his experience in a video that has since gone viral on social media. Dasaraj Centhamil Tarun, known for his food channel, DCT Eats, visited the famed Raan Jay Fai outlet to try their omelette, a dish many rave about and queue up hours for. advertisementTarun arrived, hoping for a quick bite. What he found instead was a queue so long that the restaurant had taken his order before he was even seated. "It felt like checking into a flight," he said in the caption of his video post on Instagram. The stall's reputation didn't rest on decor; it was the 81-year-old chef Jay Fai, the restaurant's cook, who drew crowds. Wearing her iconic ski goggles, she managed the work like a solo warrior. Despite securing a seat, Tarun waited over 30 minutes before his plate even arrived. What landed on his table looked more like a golden brick than an omelette. Curious and slightly sceptical, he took a bite, and was floored. "A colossal crab-stuffed omelette priced at Rs 3,500! Each bite was an explosion of sweetness and succulence, with the softest crab meat paired with a perfectly cooked omelette. It's indulgence at its finest and an unforgettable dining moment," he said, adding, 'Is it pricey? Yes. Is it worth it? Absolutely." advertisementWatch the video here: View this post on Instagram A post shared by DCT EATS (@dct_eats)Jai Fai's eatery, which translates to 'Jai Fai's shop', became the first street stall in Thailand to receive a Michelin star in 2018.
