Jacksonville man charged with second degree murder from a car crash
JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — Law enforcement officers charged Sage Simmons with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Jaide Simmons on Mar. 6, 2025. Officers with the Jacksonville Police Department responded to a crash at Charleston Place Apartments. The initial investigation showed Sage Simmons was driving a 2014 Ford Focus in reverse in the parking lot before hitting Jaide Simmons and a parked car. Jaide Simmons was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead. Sage Simmons has been taken to the Onslow County Jail where he is being held without bond. Jacksonville woman dies after being hit by car at apartment complex
JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — On Thursday night around 10 p.m., members of the Jacksonville Police Department responded to a collision in the parking lot of Charleston Place Apartments. The initial investigation shows 25-year-old Sage Simmons was driving a 2014 Ford Focus in reverse in the parking lot when they hit 23-year-old Jaide Simmons. A parked and unoccupied Buick Sedan was also hit. Jaide Simmons was transported by EMS to a local hospital where she died. The Jacksonville Police Department is currently investigating the crash.
