Senior DC street gang member sentenced to 35 years in prison
WASHINGTON () — A senior member of a street gang was sentenced to decades in prison Tuesday for drug trafficking charges and more.
Broadus Jamal Daniels, also known as 'Wardy,' was sentenced to 35 years in prison after a jury found him guilty on Sept. 16, 2024. Daniels is accused of being a 'big homie' for the Jugg Gang (JG) street gang.

Around August 2018, JG allied with another D.C. street crew called 'Push Dat S***' (PDS).
The U.S. Attorney's Office (USAO) for D.C. said that PDS had territory in the 3300 to 3500 blocks of Wheeler Rd. SE and also ran an open-air drug market outside of a grocery store in that area.
From August 2018 to April 2023, PDS and JG sold drugs from several locations, including in apartment buildings in the area. Rival gangs started to target them in drive-by shootings.
Starting in August 2019, one of the gang's members started assembling ghost guns that could be fully automatic.
The USAO said that PDS and JG members carried these drugs around to retaliate against rival gangs and defend their area from the gangs.
Daniels was found guilty of possessing machine guns in furtherance of drug trafficking, unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, conspiracy to distribute more than 100 kilograms of marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, unlawful possession of machine guns, and possessing firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking.

After his sentence, Daniels must also serve four years of supervised release.
The USAO said that this sentencing was part of an ongoing investigation that has led to 26 convictions and the seizure of two vehicles, 35 firearms, four machine guns, more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition, approximately 60 pounds of marijuana, 41 grams of cocaine base, dozens of oxycodone pills, and approximately $500,000 in cash.
