Trump claims he ‘hasn't made any mistakes' in first 100 days under questioning on TV town hall: Live
Donald Trump used part of his Michigan rally to bismirch his Democratic predecessor Joe Biden. Trump repeatedly attacked Biden's mental acuity and even how he appears in a bathing suit. After sharing an anecdote about the Democrat falling asleep and 'drooling' on the beach during his presidency, Trump said: 'Somebody convinced him that he looks good in a bathing suit. He's 82 years old. 'Cary Grant didn't look great in a bathing suit when he was 82. You don't look great. At some point… you have other assets, OK.' Trump took a similar jab at Biden's physique in 2023, stating: 'I have a much better body than him.' James Liddell 30 April 2025 09:46 'You're not being very nice,' Trump tells ABC journalist during 100-days interview James Liddell 30 April 2025 10:10 For the second day in a row on Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt held a press briefing exclusively for members of what she called the 'new media.' Leavitt claimed she was fulfilling a promise she made at the start of the Trump administration to speak to 'all media outlets.' As she laid bare at the start of Monday's presser, these sessions are mostly a way to take softball questions and applause lines from a host of MAGA sycophants who are ecstatic to be allowed to sit in the White House and play reporter. Justin Baragona has the story. James Liddell 30 April 2025 10:32 Hours after a Punchbowl News report alleged Amazon would show the amount of money Trump's aggressive tariff policy would add to the price of some of its products, the e-commerce giant issued a statement assuring people it was 'not going to happen.' 'The team that runs our ultra-low-cost Amazon Haul store considered the idea of listing import charges on certain products. This was never approved and is not going to happen,' Tim Doyle, a spokesperson for Amazon, said. Earlier in the day, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt blasted Amazon's reported decision as 'a hostile and political act,' and an angry Trump called Bezos. Ariana Baio 30 April 2025 10:42 Elon Musk is no longer regularly working from the White House, a new report states. The world's richest man recently announced plans to 'significantly' withdraw from the White House to focus on his electric vehicle company Tesla. Now, the Department of Government Efficiency lead is winding down his work from inside the White House, according to the New York Post. 'Instead of meeting with him (Musk) in person, I'm talking to him on the phone, but it's the same net effect,' White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles told the newspaper. She added that Musk 'hasn't been here physically, but it really doesn't matter much.' Musk's cohort of government slashers at DOGE will continue to work in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building next door to the West Wing, Wiles said. Donald Trump campaigned on a promise to rapidly and brutally expel millions of immigrants. In his first 100 days in office, he has bent every part of the government toward that goal, cracking down on non-citizen activists, invoking emergency wartime authorities, skirting court orders to stop deportation flights, pulling humanitarian protections from hundreds of thousands, and attempting to ignore the Constitution and end birthright citizenship. In a White House defined by chaos, immigration may be the only place where the Trump administration is consistent. For the millions of immigrants across the U.S., this has meant consistent anxiety. Will they be detained and deported without warning? Do they still have rights to protest? Will the courts check Trump, and will Trump obey the courts? Four different immigrants and their families told The Independent 's Josh Marcus about what it's like living through this age of uncertainty. 'CNN, this is the end of Scott,' Trump joked after Jennings took the floor. 'Oh, who cares? Don't worry, we'll take care of you, Scott.' 'I said, 'Look at these farms. I gotta get a farm in Michigan,'' he continued. 'Because when you own as many libs as I do, you got to put a place to put them all. Thank you all very much.' After the rally, Jennings posted a video on X, stating he 'got caught up in the moment.' James Liddell 30 April 2025 12:03 James Liddell 30 April 2025 12:14 Taking their cues from the right-wing culture warriors and edgelords who make up the MAGA media sphere, the Trump administration has made performative cruelty its media strategy blueprint. With a staff largely comprised of former Fox News hosts, pro-Trump influencers, made-for-TV politicians, and Trump's 'first buddy' Elon Musk, who just so happens to own one of the largest social media platforms in the world, each day has seemingly brought about a new rage baiting stunt in the conservative media complex. The goal, writes Justin Baragona, for online behavior and mainstream media engagement remains the same: titillate Trump supporters while angering the left. In a word, trolling. Alaska missing plane latest: Air Force and Coast Guard search for 10 onboard Bering Air jet
A plane carrying 10 people went missing in rural Alaska during a dangerous winter storm, with the U.S. Coast Guard and Air Force scouring the ground for survivors and medical personnel 'standing ready'. The aircraft, operated by Bering Air, was reported missing just before 4 p.m. local time on Thursday while en route from Unalakleet to Nome in the west of the state. Nine passengers and a pilot were on board the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan on Bering Air Flight 445, according to Alaska's Department of Public Safety. The plane took off from Unalakleet at 2:37 p.m., and officials lost contact with it less than an hour later when it was believed to be about 12 miles offshore, according to the director of operations for Bering Air, David Olson. It went off radio roughly 10 minutes before its scheduled arrival in Nome. 'The plane's exact location is still unknown. We continue to expand search efforts to as many avenues as possible until the plane is located,' the Nome Volunteer Fire Department wrote in an update late on Thursday. Alaska Senator, Dan Sullivan, took to Facebook to offer his 'thoughts and prayers' for the 'passengers, their families and the rescue crew'. 09:29 , James Liddell 09:27 , James Liddell The Nome Volunteer Fire Department, which is conducting an active ground search of Nome and the White Mountains, said the precise location of the aircraft is not clear.
