The highly spoken about movie 'Thug Life,' directed by Mani Ratnam, released on June 5. The film starring Kamal Haasan , Simbu, Trisha, Abhirami, Ashok Selvan, Nasser, Joju George, and many others, failed to perform well at the box office. In this case, music composer James Vasanthan shared an honest review and appreciation on social media after watching the film. In the post, James Vasanthan said, 'I saw Thug Life last night. I was blown away. Good film. A masterpiece film. But I don't understand why some people gave it such bad reviews. It had all the right elements for an underworld gangster film in the right proportions. If it had been an English film starring Hollywood stars, we would have appreciated it. The film has a deep story, a warm screenplay, stunning visuals, excellent cinematography, international standard background music, compelling performances, excellent sound mix, and excellent editing. Not a single scene was boring!." Furthermore, on thinking about the ending of the story, he said, 'What if Simbu's character didn't die, but Kamal's character did? What if both of them died? What if Nassar's character was at the end? There could have been many such differences. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Perdagangkan CFD Emas dengan Broker Tepercaya IC Markets Mendaftar Undo But that doesn't diminish the quality of the film. Beats beyond books: Virudhunagar district's initiative ushers in a ‘chorus of change'
VIRUDHUNAGAR: The district, long recognised for the excellence of its students in board examinations, is actively making efforts to spot and nurture their artistic skills, with initiatives aimed at bridging the opportunity gap between the children from rural, low-income households and their urban counterparts. Thaen Kural Thervu, one such initiative, through which the district administration selected 20 students from government and government-aided schools and has been offering them training in singing since January. The students were offered in-person training during weekdays and online guidance sessions from the team members of composer James Vasanthan. Of them, six students have recently performed in a Tamil song in a film the composer has been working on. A Asha (16), a student who performed in the song, told TNIE, "It feels surreal. The training I received from James Vasanthan sir's team truly helped improve my skills and learn singing professionally." Asha is a Class 11 student at the Government Higher Secondary School in Virudhunagar. Passionate about singing right from a young age, Asha said, "I used to practice by recording my singing on my father's keypad mobile phone," and added that she aspired to become a playback singer. A Ashwini, Asha's 14-year-old sister, also performed in the song. Their father -- P Anand Raj (37), a daily-wage labourer -- expressed his gratitude to the collector and the teachers for assisting his daughters pursue a passion, which is largely uncommon in his social circle.

Talent-hunt competition takes school students from Virudhunagar to Kollywood
Six students of Virudhunagar who had been singing for various inter-school competitions have suddenly been catapulated to a higher platform as playback singers for a Tamil movie. Thanks to a talent-hunt competition, 'Thaenkural thervu' organised by Virudhunagar district administration, the students have landed at the Kollywood studio. On Sunday evening these students sang a song to the tune of music director, James Vasanthan, for a children's movie. 'We took several takes to complete the song. But, we are thrilled that we have lent our voices for a Tamil movie,' said U. Yazhnangai, who has got into Plus Two from Kalaimagal Girls' Higher Secondary School in Sivakasi. Daughter of music teachers Yazhnangai had a natural instinct towards singing since her younger days. It was further nurtured through carnatic music class for over a decade. Collector V.P. Jeyaseelan organised a competition for the school students from which 20 of them were short-listed. Musicians from Mr. James Vasanthan's team gave online training to these short-listed candidates for a concert to be held in Virudhunagar. However, it was a sweet surprise that the music director zeroed in on six of them and gave them an opportunity to sing a song for a movie at his studio in Tiruvanmiyur. While G. Vishwa of P.A.C.M. Higher Secondary School, Rajapalayam, was the main singer of the song, others including Srihari of the same school, Shiva Dharshini of PACR Ammaniammal Higher Secondary School, Rajapalayam, and sisters, A. Asha and A. Bharathi of Thangammal Periyasamy Nadar Municipal Higher Secondary School, Virudhunagar, lent their voice for the chorus. Asha was delighted as the training given by her school music teacher for the inter-school competitions has given her a great breakthrough to sing for a movie. 'The music director taught us a lot of nuances for the singing,' she said. Following the advice of Mr. James Vasanthan that formal music learning could further nurture her talent, Asha now wants to join music college for higher studies. The district administration that gave the students an opportunity to attract the attention of a Kollywood music director facilitated their journey to Chennai and back.
