Millersburg breaks ground on Market Square Park improvements
MILLERSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — A community in upper Dauphin County broke ground Saturday on a project to improve the centerpiece of downtown.
A $425,000 revitalization project is getting underway at Market Square Park in the heart of downtown Millersburg. Borough leaders broke ground on the project during the 36th Annual Cherry Blossom Festival.
'It includes renovating the gazebo to include lighting changes, updates, electrical updates, as well as replacing some of the walkways that are in a little bit of disrepair at this point, new benches, a new low wall with signage on it, ADA accessibility,' Chris Dietz, borough council president, told abc27 News.
'This project is the result of strong community partnerships and a shared vision for a more vibrant, inclusive public space,' Borough Manager James Whitall said earlier this week. 'We are excited to celebrate this milestone with the community during our Cherry Blossom Festival.'

The project is funded through a grant from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), the Dauphin County local share account, and community donations.
