Tasty treats and awareness at BCDI's Peoria food truck frenzy

PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — The inaugural BCDI Food Truck Frenzy brings delicious eats and awareness to blood diseases. The Bleeding and Clotting Disorders Institute will host the event from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 9, at the BCDI campus at 427 W. Northmoor Rd. Jamie Cunningham and Matt McClain of BCDI told WMBD This Morning more about the organization. 'It's full comprehensive care for individuals who are living with these blood disorders and conditions.' McClain said, 'You come in, you see a Physician, you see a team of Nurse Practitioners, an Immunologist, a Dietitian, a Social Worker, and Physical Therapists all in one visit.' And, he added on, '(BCDI) is really rare, because we are the only not-for-profit Hemophilia Treatment Center in downstate, Illinois.' There are 4 in the state, and three of those are in the Chicago area. The Food Truck Frenzy is the opportunity to see the center and enjoy some outstanding Food Truck cuisine. Cousins Main Lobster, Wolf's Den Pizzeria, and others will all be available, with a portion of the proceeds going to the BCDI Foundation. 'We're going to be eating from 11 to 7 all day, no charge for admission, we just ask that you come, enjoy yourself, look around at our different department tables, and have a great time,' he said.
