Goodwill partners with initiative granting education access to Commonwealth workers
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — A network of companies offering education benefits to Kentucky employees gained a new statewide partner in a company known for its community involvement and donation centers.
State leaders announced on Friday that Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is the first statewide employer joining the Kentucky Community and Technical College System's (KCTCS) Education First Employer network.

The group of over 60 businesses throughout the Commonwealth offers tuition benefits, flexible scheduling, and competitive wages for workers who pursue higher education, per a news release.
Lt. Gov. Jaqueline Coleman said that by helping employees gain access to higher education statewide, Goodwill is showing the kind of team spirit that creates opportunities for the economy and Kentucky families to thrive.
'Goodwill is joining a network of Kentucky companies that are investing in our workforce by ensuring that Kentuckians do not have to choose between working or learning,' Coleman said.
The initiative was launched in 2023 by Gov. Andy Beshear, Team Kentucky, and Family Scholar House. Network advocates said companies qualify for the program by showing they share similar values and are committed to supporting employees through education and training.

Also in attendance for the announcement were KCTCS President Ryan Quarles, Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg, and Cathe Dysktra, chief possibility officer at Family Scholar House.
