Today, in this hall, we see living examples of the achievements that Italy has made, thanks to that historic decision.' He also disclosed, 'I have found in Kuwait a true passion and deep love for products made in Italy, and everything related to our culture and traditions. He concluded, 'I look forward to continuing to work with the Kuwaiti authorities during my term to strengthen relations between Kuwait and Italy. Diplomats unite in mourning as Iran probes port explosion

KUWAIT CITY, April 30: 'On behalf of Foreign Affairs Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya, Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Ambassador Sheikh Jarrah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the assistants and employees at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; we express the condolences of the State of Kuwait to the Islamic Republic of Iran over the explosion at Bandar Abbas Port, which resulted in several deaths and hundreds of injuries,' says Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs Ambassador Samih Hayat. He added 'we sympathize with Iran, its government and people for this enormous loss. We wish a speedy recovery for the injured.' Meanwhile, Iranian Ambassador to Kuwait Mohammad Totonji disclosed that the explosion at Shahid Rajaee Port in Bandar Abbas on Saturday resulted in dozens of casualties among technicians and hundreds of workers. 'The country witnessed a painful and tragic disaster,' he stressed. He said, 'The initial results indicate a lack of adherence to safety and civil defense regulations. The scale of the disaster and its repercussions necessitate a thorough investigation and accurate laboratory studies.' Totonji made the statement on the sidelines of the Iranian Embassy's hosting of mourners. He expressed his condolences to the victims of the accident while appreciating the condolences and sympathy of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, senior officials, popular figures, and the Chairman of the Kuwaiti-Iranian Friendship Association, Ambassador Sheikh Ali Al-Khaled. He affirmed that such a level of support has 'a significant impact on healing the wounds and alleviating the pain. The fraternal sympathy we witnessed from the Kuwaiti people and those present at the condolence book ceremony reflects the strength of fraternal ties between the two neighboring peoples, proving that neighbors come before families.' In another development, he confirmed that indirect negotiations are proceeding. 'The third round of negotiations was held this week in Muscat under Omani mediation and witnessed the participation of a group of experts and specialists. The discussions focused on technical issues, particularly the nuclear file and lifting the blockade imposed on Iran, which aspires to agree and has the qualifications to do so. The other party must avoid imposing unrealistic demands that failed previously.' He affirmed the commitment of Iran to international agreements and treaties, as well as its efforts to maintain the peaceful nature of its nuclear activities, as manifested in 'the continuous visit of the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to Tehran.' On the other hand, Russian Ambassador Vladimir Zheltov revealed, 'I visited the embassy to express our condolences over such a tragic incident that claimed the lives of dozens of innocent Iranians. We sympathize with the Iranian people and wish a speedy recovery for the injured.' He described Russia's relationship with Iran as 'very good and has risen to the level of strategic relations. We always sympathize with the Iranian people in moments of grief.' Palestinian Ambassador Rami Tahboub stated that 'on behalf of the Palestinians residing in Kuwait, I offer my deepest condolences to Ambassador Mohammad Totonji and the government and people of the friendly Republic of Iran over the victims of the Bandar Abbas Port accident. I pray that Allah will accept them as martyrs, grant the wounded speedy recovery, and protect the friendly Iranian people from all harm.' Lebanese Chargé d'Affaires Ahmed Arafa stated, 'it is with deep sorrow that we received the news of the painful explosion in Bandar Abbas, which claimed the lives of several martyrs and injured several others.' He affirmed his country's solidarity and support for friendly Iran, its government and people. He offered his sincere condolences to the families of the victims. Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq Al-Munhal Al-Safi said 'With hearts that believe in Allah's will and destiny, we received with deep sadness the news of the painful explosion at Shahid Rajaee Port in Bandar Abbas, which resulted in numerous casualties and injuries. On behalf of the staff of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq, I offer my deepest condolences and sympathy, imploring Allah Almighty to have mercy on the victims and accept them into His spacious Paradise, to give their families and relatives patience and solace, and grant the injured a speedy recovery.' Italian Ambassador Lorenzo Morini, after offering his condolences, expressed his deep sorrow, saying, 'We are saddened by this tragic incident, as people were simply performing their duty.
