MoState opens last home Valley series with 6-3 win
SPRINGFIELD, Mo–The Missouri State Bears opened a weekend Valley series Friday night against Indiana State.
And it will be the last time that Missouri State will host a Valley series.
The Bears are moving out of the Valley and into Conference USA in July.
MoState coach Joey Hawkins wants his team to win the Valley in its last campaign.
In our bear nation update, Missouri state can go a long way towards that goal with a series win against the sycamores.
Jason schaaf took the hill for the bears and was lights out.
Schaaf allowed just two earned runs, striking out seven in six innings of work.
At the dish, Taeg Gollert gave his pitcher run support in the form of this solo home run in the second, his fourth long ball of the season made it 1-0 MSU.
MoState would scratch out another five more runs, including a Nick Rodriquez home run, and the Bears win 6-3.
