Family run chip shop reaches final of 'Best Chippy 2025'
WE'RE highlighting the shortlisted chip shops in our competition in the . Each of the establishments will be featured over ten issues.
CJ's Chip Shop has been nominated by News & Star readers as one of ten finalists in its 'Best Chippy 2025' award.
The busy shop is located at 17 High Street in Wigton and has only been in business since March last year.
It is run by father and son duo, Craig and Jason Thomason, who picked up the top prize during last year's awards.
Jason told the News & Star last year that he believed the chip shop's success was down to how the staff engage with customers.
He said: "It might be because we know all of the local people and a lot of people come in just for the banter and the craic that they get off me and my staff in the shop."
