The LSU Tigers will host the Little Rock Trojans in Alex Box Stadium on Monday night with the winner advancing to the Super Regional round. Despite hosting, the Tigers will actually be the visiting team in this game.

On Sunday, the Tigers had the chance to close things out against the four-seeded Trojans, but were dominated, losing a 10-4 contest. Now, it's a winner takes all on Monday night.

This is a must-win game for a lot of reasons. Obviously they need to win to keep their season alive, but if LSU can beat Little Rock, they get to host the next round of the NCAA Tournament as well. Clemson, the 11th overall seed in the tournament, was on the other side of their bracket, but the Tigers were eliminated in their regional, meaning LSU would get to host West Virginia next week if they were to win tonight. A slew of top teams, including Vanderbilt and Texas, have already been eliminated as well, making the path to a national title a bit easier.
Jay Johnson won a national championship in 2023, but followed that up with a disappointing season in 2024 where the Tigers lost in the Regional round. He must win tonight if he wants to avoid back-to-back first round eliminations.

The Tigers still have Casan Evans and Zac Cowan available for tonight's game, so on paper they should have the advantage on the mound. The offense just needs to back them up.
