Novo Nordisk Expands Office And Workforce In Malaysia
Employees of Novo Nordisk Malaysia, together with the Danish Ambassador to Malaysia, H.E. Kirstine Vangkilde Berner, Jay Thyagarajan, SVP Region APAC, and Anand Shetty, Corporate Vice President, BASEA.
Novo Nordisk Malaysia has reopened its newly expanded office, underscoring its continued commitment to improving the lives of people living with diabetes, obesity, and other chronic illnesses in the country.
The inauguration was officiated by Danish Ambassador to Malaysia, Kirstine Vangkilde Berner, who commended the company's efforts in advancing sustainable healthcare.
'Novo Nordisk's investment in Malaysia is both invigorating and a testament to the robust partnership between Denmark and Malaysia,' she said, adding that she was impressed by the company's eco-friendly practices, such as repurposing furniture and implementing a composter.

With the office headcount growing from 106 in 2021 to 159 in 2025, the expansion aligns with Novo Nordisk's strategic growth in Malaysia. The facility incorporates sustainable materials and design to enhance both employee well-being and environmental responsibility.
Jay Thyagarajan, Senior Vice President for APAC, said, 'Today marks a significant milestone for Novo Nordisk in the APAC region as we unveil our expanded office in Malaysia… In recent years, we have invested over RM40 million in various clinical development and patient access programmes.'
General Manager of Novo Nordisk Malaysia, Cihan Serdar Kizilcik, described the reopening as 'a transformative milestone' and reiterated the company's dedication to patient-centred care and sustainable growth. Related
