Morat, Alejandro Sanz, Karol G, & More: Vote for the Best New Latin Music This Week

This week, Billboard's New Music Latin roundup and playlist — curated by Billboard Latin and Billboard Español editors — features fresh new music, including a handful of new albums by Alejandro Sanz (¿Y Ahora Qué?), Jesse & Joy (Lo Que Nos Faltó Decir), and Los Tigres del Norte (La Lotería), to name a few. Morat delivered its 14-track Ya Es Mañana (YEM) album, where they not only continue to solidify themselves as Bogotá's prolific pop-rock band, but also their loyal brotherhood and evolution. Inspired by riveting rock music from the '90s and celebrating those dreams that have come true, YEM includes collaborations with Jay Wheeler on 'Sin Ti' and Camilo on 'Me Toca a Mí.' More from Billboard Shaun Cassidy Gets Ready for the Longest Tour of His 45-Year Career: 'I Felt the Need to Connect with People' 'Luther' Ties 'Not Like Us' for Most Weeks at No. 1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart Bono Cheekily Weighs in On Springsteen Vs. Trump Squabble: 'There's Only One Boss in America' Latin hitmaker Sergio George also unleashed his album Ataca Sergio! Presents: Urban Salsa Sessions featuring some of today's Latin pop and urban stars singing brand new salsa songs. On the 11-track set, he reeled in artists such as Wisin, Ryan Castro, Jay Wheeler, Elena Rose, Oscar D' Leon, and even actor Anthony Ramos to sing a salsa tune in English. Notably is the focus track, 'La Gata y el Ratón,' where Fariana and Juanes are joined by a sample of Cheo Feliciano's original voice for a bold interpolation of Cheo's 1974 classic 'El Ratón.' Other new releases this week include music from Greeicy, Christian Nodal, Myke Towers, Trueno, and many more. Last week, Sebastian Yatra's Milagro album won the poll with over 78% of the vote. Heading to Miami's Calle Ocho festival? Avoiding it? Here's how to navigate the roads

The Kiwanis Club of Little Havana's Carnaval Miami has come to define Miami in a way few festive events can manage. Since its founding in 1978, the multi-event party has celebrated Hispanic culture. The annual festival draws more than a million people to the streets of Little Havana for the closing Calle Ocho Street Festival event. The 2025 Calle Ocho music bash is Sunday, March 9. If you're going — and even if you're not — you should be aware of what happens to Miami traffic. Here are the details: When and where is Calle Ocho 2025? When: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 9. Where: Southwest Eighth Street, stretching from Southwest 13th to 27th avenues. What roads are closed? Miami police released the following information about significant road closures starting ahead of the festival and throughout. Traffic patterns begin the day before the Sunday event. Street Closures: ▪ Saturday, March 8 — 6 p.m.: Southwest 22nd Avenue will be closed between Southwest Seventh and Eighth streets. — 9 p.m.: Eastbound traffic on Southwest Eighth Street from Southwest 27th Avenue to 13th avenues will be closed. Detours and traffic routes: ▪ Eastbound traffic on Southwest Eighth Street will be detoured northbound or southbound at Southwest 27th Avenue. — Alternate routes include Southwest First or 10th streets or Coral Way. ▪ Westbound traffic on Southwest Seventh Street will be detoured northbound or southbound at Southwest 12th Avenue. — Alternate routes include Southwest Sixth Street, West Flagler Street or Coral Way. What if you live there? Miami police say residents who live in these areas tied up by Calle Ocho will have local traffic access only to Southwest Seventh Street on the north side or Southwest Ninth Street on the south side. 'Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes to avoid delays in the area,' police said in a statement. When will roads reopen to regular traffic? All roads and detours that started Saturday evening for the Sunday event will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, March 10. Weather forecast With Calle Ocho an outdoor festival, it's imperative Mother Nature cooperates. Call it the Kiwanis Club's pull or persuasive powers but according to the National Weather Service in Miami, Sunday will be Calle Ocho Weather. That means no rain is forecast. No big chill. It'll be hot, hot, hot, perhaps. On stage and off. So wear comfy clothes and slather on sunscreen. Meteorologists say the sunny Sunday high will be around 83. The south wind should be a steady 9 to 15 mph, but with some gusts blowing as high as 21 mph. Who is headlining Calle Ocho? Now that you got the traffic and weather info, here's some music news: Jay Wheeler is headlining the 2025 music fest. You may know him from his first hit 'Ahora estoy mejor' or 'La curiosidad,' which netted him two 2021 Latin Grammys in the reggaeton and urban song categories. Reggaeton star Jay Wheeler is king of Miami's Calle Ocho street festival

All bow down to Jay Wheeler. This year's Carnaval King is also headlining the popular Calle Ocho festival that runs through the streets of Miami's Little Havana on Sunday. Is Wheeler worthy of all this 305 love? No doubt. The Latin music phenom born José Ángel López Martínez hit it big at the ripe age of 16 with his breakup anthem 'Ahora Estoy Mejor.' The track went way viral, generating more than 500,000 views in practically no time. Wheeler's already earned two Latin Grammys in 2021 for 'Best Reggaeton Performance' and 'Best Urban Song' for 'La Curiosidad.' And just last month, the Puerto Rican native's collab 'Extrañándote.' — with wife Zhamira Zambrano — was nominated for Pop Collaboration of the Year at Premio Lo Nuestro. OK, so the couple lost out to Shakira and Cardi B for 'Punteria,' but still, mad props to this rising star. 'To join the ranks of so many legendary artists who have represented Miami Carnaval as kings and queens is a privilege beyond words,' the trap sensation said at a presser last month at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. 'This is a special moment in my career and I am proud to represent our vibrant heritage as part of this amazing annual celebration of culture, music and community.' As for the fest itself, this year expect an all day blowout, like always. Expect Latin food stations, folkloric dancers, artisanal crafts, family friendly activities and of course, music, from merengue and salsa to hip-hop, R&B and more. Eight stages set up throughout the fair will feature big-name musical acts; past performers include Ricky Martin, Luis Fonsi, Pitbull, Daddy Yankee and Maluma. For those 21 and up, there's a new alcoholic treat this year: A giant cement truck filled with Monkey Shoulder whiskey. You won't be able to miss this behemoth on wheels. The 27 foot long, 13 foot tall mixer carries the equivalent of 12,000 bottles of booze. They'll be giving out free samples of such cocktails as the Guava Lemonade and Mango Monkey, made with — you guessed it — the actual fruit. CALLE OCHO 2025 When: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday Where: Eighth Street in Miami from SW 12th to 27th Avenues Admission: Free to all. VIP access is $135 via with special reservec parking, VIP lounge, merch and more. More info:
