Ex-Pakistan Star Makes IPL 'Match Fixing' Claim After Rajasthan Royals Saga, Internet Calls Him "Clown"

In the wake of Rajasthan Royals (RR) being accused of match-fixing in IPL 2025 by Rajasthan Cricket Association's (RCA) ad-hoc committee convener Jaydeep Bihani, former Pakistan cricketer Tanvir Ahmed has put forward an accusation that most IPL teams are controlled by match-fixers. Tanvir, who represented Pakistan eight times in international cricket, said that while IPL is the biggest league in the world, it also experiences the most instances of match-fixing. However, angry fans have criticised Tanvir's view, with some going as far as labelling him a "clown". Following two successive narrow defeats from winning positions, RCA convener Bihani had alleged that Rajasthan Royals were involved in match-fixing in IPL 2025. These accusations have been firmly denied by the franchise. Now, Tanvir has added fuel to the fire with his bold statement. "BCCI bolta ha humari IPL duniya ke sab say bari league ha, han woh tou ha lekin fixing bhi sab say bari hote ha ziyada tar tou teams fixers kay pass hain (BCCI says that IPL is the biggest league in the world. Yes, that is true, but the fixing in it is also the biggest. Most teams belong to fixers)," Tanvir wrote on X. However, fans have reacted sharply to Tanvir's comments. "When did BCCI claim, show me just once. You are a clown who played 5 Test matches, that's the whole achievement of your life," said one user. "I request BCCI to register an official complaint against this imposter of a cricketer who has played 5 Test matches and is a complete wannabe," posted another. "Our ex cricketers never fails to embarrass us in front of the whole world," said a third user. As per a report by The Times of India, the RCA have received less tickets during IPL 2025 than they would usually get, which could be the root cause behind their displeasure. According to the report, the RCA would usually be given around 1,800 tickets per match by Rajasthan Royals, but that number has been significantly reduced in 2025. The RCA is reportedly given around 1,000-1,200 tickets per match now. "The disgruntled member of the RCA ad-hoc committee and his associates are demanding an exorbitant amount of tickets, and we are not entertaining them. This is the sole reason behind all this drama," said an RR insider, as per the report.

Demand for tickets behind RCA's match-fixing allegation against Rajasthan Royals, claims report

Rajasthan Cricket Association ad-hoc committee convener Jaydeep Bihani had accused Rajasthan Royals of match-fixing following their two-run loss against Lucknow Super Giants in Jaipur, with the franchise coming up with a strongly-worded response refuting the allegations since. read more Rajasthan Royals currently are eighth on the IPL 2025 points table with just four points to their name in eight outings. Image: Reuters Rajasthan Royals have come up with a strongly-worded response in the form of a letter to the state government after being accused of match-fixing after their recent defeat against Lucknow Super Giants in Jaipur. RCA ad-hoc committee convener Jaydeep Bihani had made the serious accusation against the Royals after they suffered a narrow two-run loss against the Super Giants despite needing 25 off 18 with 8 wickets in hand. RR, who currently are 8th out of 10 teams on the Indian Premier League points table, had accused the convener of making the accusation without any evidence and stirring 'unnecessary controversy' and undermining not just the franchise but the BCCI as well. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD A senior BCCI official, however, has not only rubbished Bihani's allegations, he claimed the BJP MLA from Sri Ganganagar is trying to create drama ahead of fresh elections in the RCA, which remains dissolved as of now. 'The RCA is currently dissolved. An ad-hoc committee has been formed, and with the elections approaching, there is a lot of drama. Everyone wants attention. The BCCI has an anti-corruption unit working 24x7 to keep bad elements away from the game. There is no truth to these allegations,' the unnamed BCCI official told The Times of India. Match tickets the reason behind fixing allegations? The report also quotes an RR insider, who stated that the franchise's refusal to entertain the RCA officials' demands for an 'exorbitant amount of tickets' is the reason behind the match-fixing drama. 'At the start of the season, the BCCI gave us a clear guideline that since the RCA is dissolved, we would be dealing with the Rajasthan State Sports Council for all arrangements. 'The disgruntled member of the RCA ad-hoc committee and his associates are demanding an exorbitant amount of tickets, and we are not entertaining them. This is the sole reason behind all this drama,' the RR insider was quoted in the report. Demand for match tickets was also the reason behind Sunrisers Hyderabad's recent row with the Hyderabad Cricket Association which has since been resolved following the BCCI's intervention. BCCI official gives strong reaction to match-fixing charges against Rajasthan Royals in IPL; RR writes letter: Report

A Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) official reacted to the match-fixing allegations on IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals in their group-stage match against Lucknow Super Giants on April 19. Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) ad-hoc committee convenor Jaydeep Bihani accused RR of match-fixing after they lost their home match against LSG by 2 runs, failing to score 9 in the last over. Talking to The Times of India, a BCCI official rejected the claims and announced that the RCA is dissolved. "The RCA is currently dissolved. An ad-hoc committee has been formed, and with the elections approaching, there is a lot of drama. Everyone wants attention." The official also reassured that the BCCI has its anti-currption body keeping a close watch on the proceedings of IPL 24*7. "The BCCI has an anti-corruption unit working 24x7 to keep bad elements away from the game. There is no truth to these allegations," he added. The official responded after the Rajasthan Royals wrote a strongly worded letter to the BCCI regarding the RCA ad-hoc committee's fixing claims. "The statements made by the convener are without any evidence and serve only to stir unnecessary controversy. They undermine not just the Royals but also Royal Multi Sport Private Limited (RMPL), the Rajasthan Sports Council, the BCCI, and the game of cricket itself,' wrote RR in their letter. The TOI report also added that this season's reduced number of complimentary tickets could have caused the scuffle between RR and RCA. RR previously provided 1800 complimentary tickets to RCA for its home matches in Jaipur but since the association was dissolved this year, the franchise provided only 1000-1200 tickets. "At the start of the season, the BCCI gave us a clear guideline that since the RCA is dissolved, we would be dealing with the Rajasthan State Sports Council (RSSC) for all arrangements," said a RR insider. "The disgruntled member of the RCA ad-hoc committee and his associates are demanding an exorbitant amount of tickets, and we are not entertaining them. This is the sole reason behind all this drama," they added. RR also countered Bihani's claims of not letting RCA get involved in the matter related to the franchise and the ongoing season of IPL. "As per the contractual requirements and BCCI directions, we are to work with the state association and the state government. RMPL has effectively and successfully done this for the last 18 years. The BCCI has confirmed and approved that the RSSC has the hosting rights for IPL matches in Jaipur. The franchisee is working hand-in-hand with the BCCI and RSSC under the guidance and support of the State Government to ensure a successful IPL season."

How IPL 2025 Match Tickets Became Reason Behind Rajasthan Royals Match Fixing Allegation

The IPL 2025 season has been filled with unexpected drama, with Rajasthan Royals (RR) now at the center of a controversial match-fixing allegation. The latest twist in the saga involves the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) and the battle for IPL 2025 tickets, which has led to accusations from Jaydeep Bihani, the convenor of the RCA's ad-hoc committee. As RR fights back, claiming these allegations are baseless, the real story may lie in the ongoing feud over ticket allocations. The accusations stem from RR's recent narrow defeats in IPL 2025, particularly their two-run loss to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), which occurred in dramatic fashion. Chasing 181 runs at Jaipur's Sawai Mansingh Stadium, RR needed just nine runs from the final over with six wickets in hand. However, despite being in a seemingly comfortable position, RR failed to clinch victory, prompting Bihani to allege that the match might have been fixed. Bihani's comments, claiming that even a child could deduce the match was manipulated, have sparked a firestorm. However, RR management has firmly denied these allegations. They argue that such claims are not only false but also harmful to the integrity of the team, the BCCI, and the game of cricket itself. A senior official from the BCCI has also weighed in, suggesting that Bihani's remarks might be driven by personal motives, given the upcoming RCA elections. The BCCI official emphasized the presence of an anti-corruption unit monitoring the IPL 2025 season 24/7, assuring that there is no evidence to support the match-fixing claims. Ticket Demand Controversy: The Root Cause of Tensions As the match-fixing allegations swirl, another, perhaps more plausible, issue seems to be at the heart of the controversy: the allocation of complimentary tickets. According to reports, the RCA has been significantly reduced in the number of tickets it receives for each IPL match this season. Historically, the RCA was allotted around 1,800 tickets per match, but in 2025, that number has dropped to just 1,000-1,200 tickets. This change has led to tension between RR and the RCA, with insiders from the franchise suggesting that the dispute over ticket allocations may be the primary reason behind the allegations. A source close to RR stated, "The disgruntled members of the RCA's ad-hoc committee are demanding excessive tickets, and we are simply not accommodating these unreasonable requests. This is the real cause of all the drama." The BCCI had already clarified that, due to the RCA's dissolution, RR would now be dealing directly with the Rajasthan State Sports Council (RSSC) for IPL arrangements. This shift in responsibilities seems to have angered certain members of the RCA, who are not satisfied with the new arrangements. BCCI and RR Stand Strong Against the Allegations RR's management has come out strongly against the allegations, describing them as defamatory and misleading. The franchise issued a letter to the media, rejecting the claims and calling for an end to the public speculation. The letter emphasizes that the accusations damage the credibility of not only RR but also the Rajasthan Sports Council and the BCCI. Furthermore, the BCCI has fully backed RR, with officials reiterating that the RCA's current ad-hoc committee is merely seeking attention amidst a politically charged environment ahead of the state elections. Rajasthan Royals' Struggles on the Field Aside from the off-field controversies, RR's on-field performance in IPL 2025 has been underwhelming. With only two wins from eight matches, RR are struggling to find form. The team has suffered from several key setbacks, including the recent injury of captain Sanju Samson, who is set to miss their upcoming match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) due to a side strain. Despite their underperformance, RR's management remains focused on turning their season around. The upcoming match against Gujarat Titans on April 28 at home is seen as a crucial opportunity to get their campaign back on track.

Reason Behind Rajasthan Royals Match-Fixing Allegations, Report Reveals 'Ticket Demands' Twist

Rajasthan Royals (RR) hit back with a strongly-worded letter following allegations of match-fixing made by Rajasthan Cricket Association's (RCA) ad-hoc committee convener Jaydeep Bihani. Following RR's narrow defeats against Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants - both of which happened despite the team being in a position to cruise to victory - RR have now been accused of match-fixing. While the franchise has categorically objected to any accusation, a recent report has stated that the chief motive behind the RCA's comments may be ticket sales. As per a report by The Times of India, the RCA have received less ticket during IPL 2025 than they would usually get, which could be the root cause behind their displeasure. According to the report, the RCA would usually be given around 1,800 tickets per match by Rajasthan Royals, but that number has been significantly reduced in 2025. The RCA is reportedly given around 1,000-1,200 tickets per match now. "At the start of the season, the BCCI gave us a clear guideline that since the RCA is dissolved, we would be dealing with the Rajasthan State Sports Council (RSSC) for all arrangements," said an RR insider, as per the report. "The disgruntled member of the RCA ad-hoc committee and his associates are demanding an exorbitant amount of tickets, and we are not entertaining them. This is the sole reason behind all this drama," the insider further added. While Rajasthan Royals have already denied the allegations made by Bihani, now a BCCI official has also reportedly spoken out against the RCA. "The RCA is currently dissolved. An ad-hoc committee has been formed, and with the elections approaching, there is a lot of drama. Everyone wants attention. The BCCI has an anti-corruption unit working 24x7 to keep bad elements away from the game. There is no truth to these allegations," the BCCI official told TOI on conditions of anonymity. The RR management strongly objected to these claims, stating, "We reject all allegations made by the convener of the ad hoc committee. Such public statements are not only misleading but have caused serious damage to the reputation and credibility of Rajasthan Royals, Royal Multi Sport Private Limited (RMPL), the Rajasthan Sports Council, and the BCCI. They also tarnish the integrity of cricket." Rajasthan Royals have won just two matches out of their first eight, and have lost their two-most recent games in spectacular fashion, failing to chase down 9 runs in 6 balls on both occasions.
