For most of the 2010s and into the 2020s, Jean Segura was one of the better middle infielders in Major League Baseball. The native of Dominican Republic made the All-Star Game twice - once with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2014 and once with the Seattle Mariners in 2018 - during his 12 years in the bigs. His best season came in his lone year with the Arizona Diamondbacks when he finished with a 6.6 WAR upon slashing .319/.368/.499 while leading all of baseball with 203 hits.
