4 taken to hospital after head-on collision in Orleans
The Ottawa Paramedic Service says one person was extricated, and three others were taken to hospital following a head-on collision in Orleans Friday night.
The person who was extricated, a 47-year-old woman, was taken to hospital in serious but stable condition, paramedics say. The three others were transported to hospital in stable condition.
Paramedics say they received a call from police around 8:15 p.m., reporting a head-on collision between two vehicles in the intersection of Jeanne-d'Arc Boulevard and Innes Road.
Ottawa Fire Services says when crews arrived at the scene, they found that both vehicles had landed on their wheels, with their airbags fully deployed. They also found that one person was trapped in a vehicle.
That when the extrication process started.
Firefighters stabilized the vehicle and safely extricated the woman just before 8:45 p.m.
They then spread absorbent on the leaking fluid and disconnected the batteries before leaving the scene.
