Shreveport's Centenary College celebrates annual Founders' Day
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Centenary College of Louisiana will be celebrating and gathering to observe its annual Founders' Day.
Shreveport's Centenary College of Louisiana turns 200
Centenary College's annual Founders' will be held on Thursday, February 20, at 11:00 a.m. in the Brown Chapel, it is free and open to the public.
The 2025 Founders' Day speakers this year include Edward J. Crawford III, a member of the College's Board of Trustees since 1991; Dr. Jefferson Hendricks '75, a Centenary alumnus and faculty member for over 40 years; Cheredith Rhone '17, Centenary alumna; and Tuyen Chau '25, a current student.

The four speakers will offer short reflections on how the college has influenced their lives.
President Dr. Christopher Holoman will announce and deliver service pins for faculty and staff along with several special annual awards, the President's Excellence Award and the Outstanding Teacher Award.

The college was founded in 1825, making Centenary the oldest higher education institution in Louisiana and the oldest chartered liberal arts college west of the Mississippi River.
