Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Two people were killed when a small plane crashed on a major highway in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Six people were hurt as the plane hit a bus and burst into a fireball while trying to land on Marques de Sao Vicente Avenue. At least one woman in the bus was among the injured as debris from the crash, explosion and fire hit passersby. The eight-seat King Air F90 plane had two people onboard. It left Camp de Marte around 7:15 a.m. local time en route to Porto Alegre. Military Police Lieutenant Jefferson de Souza told CNN Brazil five people were rescued by fire emergency services. Video of the crash scene depicted clouds of black smoke and flames on the avenue on Marques de Sao Vicente Avenue in the coastal Barra Funda area of Sao Paulo. "I just saw everything flying and the fireball. It exploded immediately. Everyone was paralyzed. The plane was ripping up palm trees and signs," witness Genival Dantas Arraes told Brazilian TV network Globo. According to one witness cited by Globo, as the plane tried to land on the avenue many cars swerved out of the way as the small plane hit the back of the bus and exploded.
