What happened at Trump's Michigan rally

Good morning, all. If you want to live a long, healthy life, consider picking up the morning habits of people who live past 100. Now, on to the news. Subscribe to get this newsletter in your inbox each morning. At a rally in Michigan last night, President Trump celebrated the first 100 days of his second term and defended the swift implementation of his agenda amid growing disapproval. Trump's speech: He touted his tariffs, the lengths his administration has gone to push deportations and efforts to trim the federal government. 'We've accomplished more in three months than most administrations accomplished in four years,' he said. Read the takeaways. [USA Today] Tariff relief: Trump signed an executive order before the rally to amend his 25% auto tariffs so that carmakers who use foreign parts aren't hit with prohibitively high import taxes. 'We just wanted to help them during this little transition, short term,' Trump said. [AP] On ABC News: Trump also appeared in a contentious interview in which he faced questions over tariffs, deportations, Kilmar Abrego Garcia's alleged MS-13 tattoo and the power of the presidency. Here are the highlights. Listen to the full interview. [The Hill/ABC News] UPS announced that it will cut 20,000 jobs due in part to plans to trim its Amazon business. Meanwhile, GM recalled 600,000 SUVs and trucks in the U.S. over potential engine failure. See which ones. [CBS News/Detroit Free Press] At least one person has died after severe storms rattled the Midwest and Northeast last night, causing flooding, wind damage and more than 700,000 power outages. More storms are expected in the south-central U.S. today. [CNN] The Wisconsin Supreme Court has temporarily suspended Judge Hannah Dugan after she was arrested by the FBI and charged last week for allegedly helping an undocumented immigrant 'evade arrest.' [ABC News] Two more teams advanced in the NBA playoffs: The Celtics, who closed their series with a blowout, and the Pacers, who won in overtime before Tyrese Haliburton's dad's testy exchange with the Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo. [Yahoo Sports] Singer Ed Sheeran celebrated his forthcoming single 'Old Phone' by sharing a series of throwback photos and videos, including a 2015 selfie with longtime pal Taylor Swift. Take a look. [People] 🏒 In the rink, the NHL playoffs continue with three games, starting with the Capitals, who are one win away from the next round, taking on the Canadiens at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN. [USA Today] ⚾ On the field, the Red Sox and the Blue Jays meet for the second of a three-game series at 7 p.m. ET on the MLB app. [AP] 🏀 On the court, the NBA playoffs continue with two games, starting at 7:30 p.m. ET on TNT. The Warriors and the Timberwolves are each one win away from the next round. [Yahoo Sports] 📺 On TV, Jeopardy! Masters returns for a third season at 9 p.m. ET on ABC. Check out the lineup of Jeopardy! greats who will be competing. [Good Housekeeping] ☀️ And don't forget to: Read your daily horoscope. Play the crossword. Check the forecast in your area. In 2004, Mean Girls hit theaters. The endlessly quotable teen classic went on to inspire a made-for-TV sequel and a Broadway musical adaptation. 'I hope they quote it on my grave,' Amanda Seyfried, one of the stars of the film, said in a recent interview. 'In many ways, it's just a perfect movie.' [People] I spoke to Andrew Romano about his reporting on a new Yahoo News/YouGov poll about the first 100 days of Trump's second term. Take a look. Andrew: Trump's approval rating is 11 points underwater — 42% approve and 53% disapprove. That's historically bad; he's the only president whose disapproval rating has outstripped his approval rating after 100 days, and more Americans than not say Trump has performed worse than expected. Andrew: His tariffs are really unpopular. A full 57% of Americans say Trump has 'gone too far' with them, while just 28% say his actions have been "about right.' His executive order to remove migrants without due process fares better, but still only 38% of Americans approve of it, while 48% disapprove. Andrew: At the height of COVID in 2020, Trump averaged 49% approval on the economy and 45% disapproval. Now it's 36% approve to 56% disapprove. His ratings on the cost of living are even worse. He promised to bring prices down, but 69% of people say tariffs will hike prices. That's a recipe for political backlash. Executive orders, job cuts and tariffs: Here's Trump's first 100 days in simple charts. Astronomers recently discovered a stellar nursery hidden by a so-called dark nebula. The photo of the Circinus West molecular cloud, which is nearly 60 times the size of our solar system, was taken with one of the most powerful cameras in the world. Get a closer look. [Space] We asked, you answered: What are your favorite Aretha Franklin songs? Nancy B. said 'Day Dreaming,' Janie T. said 'Dr. Feelgood,' Fil B. said 'Rock Steady,' and a few of you agreed with Rolling Stone that 'Respect' is No. 1. 💡 P.S. 'Jeopardy! Masters': Everything to know, including Ken Jennings' pick of most intimidating

'Jeopardy! Masters': Everything to know, including Ken Jennings' pick of most intimidating Show Caption Hide Caption Have game show prizes adjusted for inflation? What to know. Are game show prizes keeping up with inflation? What those original $1 million prizes are worth now. It's the best time of the year for people who groove to the "Think!" music and love to provide answers in the form of questions. 'Jeopardy! Masters' returns April 30 (ABC, Wednesdays, 9 ET/PT) giving one deserving competitor the chance to walk away with a $500,000 cash prize, a $100,000 charitable donation given in their name, the Trebek Trophy (named for longtime host Alex Trebek) and the ultimate bragging rights. According to legend-turned-host Ken Jennings, the contestants appear 'the right amount of nervous' for the throwdown. 'On a regular 'Jeopardy!' taping day, there's genuine terror,' Jennings says with a laugh. 'It's a stressful thing to go on national TV for the first time, and then in 'Celebrity Jeopardy!' maybe there's not quite enough terror. Those people are very confident on camera, and that's what makes 'Celebrity Jeopardy!' so great. 'Jeopardy! Masters' is the perfect balance.' This year's third competition has expanded from six participants to nine, including last year's champion Victoria Groce, who told USA TODAY she celebrated her victory with 'the single silliest bottle of champagne,' goodies from 'the fancy cheese shop' and booking a trip to Portugal. If you have questions about the details of the 'Jeopardy! Masters' tournament, allow us to clue you in. How to watch 'Jeopardy! Masters' The first of nine hourlong episodes premieres April 30. Each installment consists of two games. The first six games (or three episodes) features all nine contestants, and the three players with the lowest cumulative scores are eliminated. The tournament's quarterfinals begin in Episode 4 and include six games over three episodes. Four top contestants will advance to the four-game (two-episode) semifinals. And a winner is crowned after the three finalists face off in two games. 'Jeopardy! Masters' will air on: Wednesday, April 30 Wednesday, May 7 Wednesday, May 14 Tuesday, May 20 Wednesday, May 21 Tuesday, May 27 Wednesday, May 28 Tuesday, June 3 Wednesday, June 4 Who will be on 'Jeopardy! Masters?' The nine slots have been filled by the Top 3 from last year's 'Masters' throwdown, this season's Tournament of Champions and the Invitational Tournament. 'The only exception is that one of last year's Masters finalists, James Holzhauer (who placed third), was invited but chose not to compete this year,' Jennings says. 'So we found a great sub': Brad Rutter, who tops the leaderboard for all-time winnings ($4,938,436), will once again vie for a piece of 'Jeopardy!' history. Rutter, whom Jennings jokes is his ''Jeopardy!' nemesis,' joins Matt Amodio, Roger Craig and Juveria Zaheer (the best of the 'Invitational Tournament'), Groce and Yogesh Raut (2024 'Masters' winner), Neilesh Vinjamuri, Isaac Hirsch and Adriana Harmeyer ('Tournament of Champions'). Jennings dubs Groce the most intimidating of the nine. 'I don't see a world where I can play at that level anymore,' he says. 'It's been over 20 years since I was on 'Jeopardy!' I'm not in my 'Jeopardy!' prime anymore.' Who won 'Jeopardy! Masters'? After finale, tournament champ (spoiler) spills all 'Jeopardy! Masters' scoring Ahead of the finals, participants receive points doled out according to their performance in each matchup. The winner of each game is awarded three points, the runnerup gets one point and the third-place contestant receives none. During the Finals, scores reflect the amount of points racked up in the current episode. The totals from each Finals game will be added to determine the winner.

Former ‘Wheel of Fortune' host Pat Sajak to return to game show for ‘Final Spin'

After decades behind the iconic wheel, followed by his 2024 retirement, Pat Sajak is preparing for his "Final Spin" on "Celebrity Wheel of Fortune." Sajak, who stepped down from his hosting duties in June 2024, will make one last appearance on the beloved spinoff series beginning on April 30, according to a press release. A star-studded lineup is gearing up to join Sajak for a week of "Celebrity Wheel of Fortune," including Josh Gad, Regina Hall, Ellie Kemper, Justin Long, Joe Manganiello, Katharine McPhee and more. The Hollywood players will have a chance to win $1 million for the charity of their choice. The special "Celebrity Wheel of Fortune" episodes will be followed by the 2025 "Jeopardy! Masters" tournament, hosted by former champion Ken Jennings. Sajak's return to the game show comes after he announced that he would be stepping down from his hosting duties in June 2023. Sajak's retirement marked an end to 42 years of hosting the show. Weeks after his announcement, Ryan Seacrest was officially named as his replacement. "Wheel of Fortune" co-host Vanna White later signed a contract that will keep her on the show through the 2025-2026 season. The popular game show premiered on television in 1975. Sajak started hosting in 1981, with co-host White joining him the following year. Meanwhile, Seacrest has had several eventful episodes on "Wheel of Fortune" since he took over for Sajak. Earlier this week, a contestant got physical with the current game show host. Player Bill Page from Wilmington, Delaware, kicked off his game by putting Seacrest in a headlock. In the viral moment, Page is seen grabbing Seacrest by the neck, with one arm underneath the host's chin and the other firmly on top of his head. At first, Seacrest didn't resist and was all smiles. However, as Page continued to hold the host in a headlock and lowered his body to the ground, Seacrest began to tap out. The host continuously banged his hand on the game show table, as he indicated that he'd had enough of the intense wrestling move. "Wheel of Fortune" fans enjoyed Page as a contestant on the game show, as they applauded the winner of the night on social media. "The headlock was the highlight of the show," one comment read on Instagram.
