Jersey: Band record Jerriais version of national anthem
A pop-folk band has re-recorded the island's national anthem Beautiful Jersey in Jersey's traditional language is a 10-piece band which performs in Jerriais to promote the island's cultural band has re-recorded a Jerriais version of Beautiful Jersey which was released ahead of Liberation singer Kit Ashton told BBC Radio Jersey the national anthem was a popular "patriotic song" but it "took on a new life" when it was translated into Jerriais and helped raise morale during the German occupation. Jersey films launched to help language learners
A series of short films providing support to pupils learning different languages are being launched in Government of Jersey said the Learning Bites series of films had been created as a resource for parents and films will be launched at a Community Language Celebration event at Jersey Library in St Helier on to the government, about a third of students at mainstream schools were multilingual learners and the aim of the films was to promote language development. The event at Jersey Library will take place between 10:00 and 12:00 will also include displays from Art House Jersey, music from Jersey Music Service and stories in Jerriais, French, English, and Portuguese.
