Popular local restaurant Side Street Inn heading West

HONOLULU (KHON2) — One of Hawaiʻi's most iconic local restaurants is making its way to west Oʻahu. Top 10 best donut spots in Hawaiʻi Popular restaurant Side Street Inn is opening its first location outside urban Honolulu at Wai Kai at Hoakalei. Called Hali'a, meaning 'fond remembrance' in Hawaiian, this new concept will take over the waterfront space previously occupied by Kitchen Door. 'We're thrilled to bring the Side Street Inn experience to the West Side community,' said co-owner Lisa Meyer. 'This location at Wai Kai offers the perfect setting for gathering with family and friends to enjoy the same generous portions and island-style hospitality we're known for, but this time with a view.'With existing locations in Honolulu and Kapahulu, Side Street Inn has gained a following for its signature dishes like kim chee fried rice, pipikaula-style short ribs and pork chops. EWA BEACH, Hawaii (KHON2) — Wai Kai's Ono Grindz & Makeke Farmers Market will be hosting a special Lunar New Year celebration from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Jan. celebration will feature cultural festivities, shopping from local brands and a Lion Dance performance at 6:30 p.m. 10 Lunar New Year gifts to welcome the Year of the Snake Over 30 local vendors will be in attendance, with products such as farm-fresh produce, handmade crafts, goods and food trucks. There will also be a surf show at 7:30 p.m., featuring advanced surfers riding the Wai Kai Wave.
