Jersey's last air display was cut back due to £20,000 drop in funds

The most recent Jersey International Air Display was cut back because its government subsidy was reduced to £40,000, accounts have had been hoping for £60,000, as had been granted in 2023, but were not able to convince ministers in meant they spent less on aircrafts for September's show than the previous year and were not able to put on a static display at Lower Mike Higgins made an appeal for funding last year due to the tighter budget. The event usually attracts volunteers from the UK to help with safety and administration, but fewer of them came last year – resulting in lower accommodation costs for for 2024 showed the event made a loss of £550, with fundraising efforts already in the works for this year's event.

Red Arrows to return to Jersey air show

The Red Arrows will take part in this year's Jersey International Air Display, it has been announced. Organiser Mike Higgins said the RAF acrobatic display team would star in the show on 11 September. The Red Arrows did not take part in last year's event due to scheduling conflicts. In December, Mr Higgins said he was hoping to "get back to the level of the air display in 2013 when we won the trophy for the best European air show". Mr Higgins also confirmed a Typhoon jet will feature in this year's four-hour event.
