Danny Dyer and Mark Wright 'finally declare a truce on their bitter feud' - after decade of trading social media barbs and THAT V Festival fight

Their feud has divided two of Essex's most famous families for more than a decade. But it seems that Danny Dyer and Mark Wright have finally buried the hatchet thanks to their female family members playing peacemaker. The two stars are considered TV royalty, with their families also making their names in the showbiz industry, but have long been seen as rivals. Their squabbles began all the way in 2013, when Danny, 47, slammed Mark, 38, for being 'arrogant', before things reportedly got physical at a charity football game. Since then there have been several slinging matches on social media, with both stars' family members getting involved, culminating in an infamous altercation at V Festival in 2016. However, it appears that the longstanding feud between the actor and the TOWIE star has somewhat thawed, after Danny was spotted chatting to Mark's sister Jess Wright in the smoking area of the BAFTA TV Awards this month, following his big win. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. It seems that Danny Dyer (left) and Mark Wright (right) have finally buried the hatchet thanks to their female family members playing peacemaker Their squabbles began all the way in 2013, when Danny, 47, slammed Mark, 38, for being 'arrogant', before things reportedly got physical at a charity football game (Danny seen in March) Speaking to The Sun, she said: 'There is no beef with them. We don't see them, but Danny has seen Jess a lot. He sees her at the gym and he saw her at an event a couple of weeks ago and Jess was there and they were cool, they speak. There is nothing there.' Fellow reality star Jess is said to be good pals with Danny's eldest daughter Dani Dyer as well, with the two women following each other on Instagram and messaging regularly. While Jo also heaped praise on Mark's newborn baby girl, Palma, with his wife Michelle Keegan, admitting she wished Dani had chosen the same name for her little girls. She said: 'Do you know what I love? I love the name Palma. I said to Dani, "Oh my god, why did we not name your little girls Palma." That's where my dad is from.' While a source told the publication that there was 'no bad blood' between Mark and Danny anymore, as they had both grown up and were concentrating on their careers, insisting they were typical 'Essex blokes' that were 'full of bravado'. The insider said: 'Danny and Mark have both grown up a lot since the clash and don't have any bad blood. In fact, quite the opposite, they're both family men, who look out for their own and have a fair bit of respect for each other. 'They're both self made and work hard to support their families. Danny thinks Jess is sweet as she always makes an effort to say hi and has a smile on her face. They live fairly near to each other in Essex and see each other's clan at showbiz parties.' The rivalry kicked off in 2013 when Danny voiced his dislike for Mark in an interview with Digital Spy. He said: 'I got mistaken for him once. In a cafe. It put me right off my beans. Again, I don't know him, but he's everything I hate about this whole celebrity world. 'It's mainly because of some of his quotes saying he wants to be the next James Bond. If he's the next James Bond, it's over for me. It's the arrogance of it all - it irritates me. 'Mark's not up my street, he'll never be a mate of mine. Good luck to him, just stay away from me.' Then, according to reports, things got physical in the changing rooms of a charity football match. At the time Danny became embroiled in a war of words with Mark's brother Joshua on social media. The EastEnders star took aim at Mark when he tweeted: 'My worst nightmare would be listening to Heart FM while eating an Oykos yoghurt. It would be like p***ing razor blades.' Mark was a DJ on the radio station and starred in adverts for the yoghurt brand and the attack certainly piqued the interest of Gillingham FC star Joshua. The midfielder hit back: 'Malcolm you must still be hurting from when Mark gave you a slap in the changing room that over it you melt @MrDDyer' At the time Danny became embroiled in a war of words with Mark's brother Joshua on social media, who claimed Mark had slapped Danny in the changing rooms However, Danny shed further light on the situation, writing: 'At a charity football match 4 Terminally ill children then run behind his dad. What a geezer. My bird hits harder.' Disputing the actor's version of events, Joshua said: '@MrDDyer Not sure it happened like that mate you ran your mouth as always and pushed him into corner so he protected himself by slapping you'. He added that his dad wasn't in the room at the time. Replying to criticism from one X user, Danny explained to his followers: 'Hardly a dig. The fact I suffered it was there was kids waiting outside with months to live. He's a disgrace.' However, things really took a turn at V Festival in 2016 when Danny clashed with a group of Mark's friends. He is thought to have clashed with at least five of the radio presenter's pals during the incident, although several men can be seen close to the fracas in photos that emerged at the time. The Mr. Bigstuff star broke his silence about the fracas to slam Mark after the reality star denied that he was personally involved. He said: 'No daughter should have 2 see their old man being toe punted in the nut by 5 complete p****s. I'm sweet Bae.' Mark took to social media only to actively deny claims he was embroiled in the backstage fight. The Mr. Bigstuff star broke his silence about the fracas to slam Mark after the reality star denied that he was personally involved He tweeted: 'Seen some stories online today about v festival [sic]. I would like to confirm that I personally wasn't involved in any physical confrontation'. But Danny hit back: ' Where was ya?? Do you wanna declare who ya snakey 2 Bob mates are?? Especially the 1 squaring up to my Dani.' [Danny's daughter]. He then shared a picture of Mark and six of his friends on the day, [although only five were reportedly involved.] Captioning the image, he wrote: 'Friends eh. How to ruin ya pals career before it had even started. Legends. Other than that I had a proper night. X.' A photo of the Marching Powder star posing with some pals on social media the following morning showed Danny with what appeared to be the beginnings of a black eye. At the time his daughter Dani slammed Mark's pals for attacking her 'sensitive' father in a lengthy X post. The Love Island star wrote: 'The only thing I'm even gonna say is my dad is the strongest person I know. He isn't a fighter just because he plays good acting rolls as a hard man does not mean he is that in real life. [sic] 'I admit I was shouting that Mark Wright is a c***. Because his silly mates thought it was okay to barge past my dad knowing he was drunk, my heart is broken as I witnessed the whole thing.' He is thought to have clashed with at least five of the radio presenter's pals during the incident, although several men can be seen close to the fracas in photos that emerged at the time She continued: 'My dad is such a sensitive loving person who wouldn't want to hurt a fly. 5 on 1 is never fair. 'But I love you papa and seeing that just proved how I would have wished to have smacked them in the mouth. Love you.' While Joanne also came to her husband's defence, and claimed Mark's friends 'ganged up on Danny' at the music event. 'She said: 'How could Mark Wright's friends do that to my Danny in front of my little girl. We are here on a family trip and this happens. 'Danny is not an aggressive person, he wouldn't have wanted to fight anyone. They've ganged up on him. I can't believe they've done this. I've waited nine months to see Justin Bieber and this has ruined it.' Joanne also hit out at Mark's wife Michelle, writing on X: 'It's official. I'm going to be promoting MY GIRL and the s**t she witnessed,' followed by the hashtag #yourtoof**kingstaged. This was in response to Michelle promoting her show, Our Girl. A source told the Mirror at the time: 'Everyone is shocked today. It was TOWIE vs EastEnders. It all kicked off. Security said it was like the Wild West. Meanwhile, Dani slammed Mark's pals for attacking her 'sensitive' father in a lengthy X post where she said her heart was broken 'Danny emerged this morning from his tent and appeared to have a black eye. But he still seemed to be in an upbeat mood.' Sources claim security put an end to a row between the pair, after which Mark joked that Danny 'couldn't hit someone if he tried.' 'Mark did seem put out though and spent a lot of time on the phone. In his first conversation he was angry and shouting a lot but when he was on the phone for the third time he had calmed down.' Since V Festival, the duo have managed to avoid any other public fallouts, but a source told The Sun that it's something Danny will 'never forget' even though Mark has 'moved on'. In 2018, Mark booked a DJ residency at the Hotel BH Mallorca in Magaluf, and swirling reports claimed it was to avoid another festival run-in with Danny. However, when approached by MailOnline, a representative for Mark had a brutal response to the claim. They said: 'Who is Danny Dyer and why would I care about him? Mark has a big new job that he starts at next week and we're all excited for him.' And in 2023, when Danny returned to Soccer Aid, it was reported by The Sun that he waited years to make a comeback because he didn't want to play with Mark. At the time, an insider said: 'Danny is a huge football fan and Soccer Aid is a dream gig for him. Previously he's refused to take part if Mark is on the team. 'Danny is buzzing he can now be a part of it and he is looking forward to walking out at Old Trafford tonight.'

How decade-long bitter feud between Danny Dyer and Mark Wright is over… with pair even ‘having respect for each other'

THE explosive fight between hardman actor Danny Dyer and ex Towie star Mark Wright was the talk of V festival back in 2016, I remember it well. The brawl resulted in both parties having to keep a wide berth, Danny having a black eye and wife Jo hiding in her tent, as they were supposed to be celebrating their stag and hen dos. 11 11 11 I remember Jo telling me at the time she just wanted to enjoy headliner Justin Bieber. But when I saw Danny, now 47, jubilant after having just won a prestigious gong, chatting away to Mark's sister Jess, 39, in the smoking area at the Bafta TV awards earlier this month, it was clear that the decade-long rift between the two influential families was over. Now, in an exclusive interview with Danny's missus Jo, she has revealed that it is in fact friendly Jess, a mainstay on the showbiz circuit, who has helped smooth over the rift. She explained: 'There is no beef with them. We don't see them, but Danny has seen Jess a lot. 'He sees her at the gym and he saw her at an event a couple of weeks ago and Jess was there and they were cool, they speak. There is nothing there.' Not only is Jo happy for Mark and wife Michelle Keegan's new baby, but she loves their choice of name so much she wishes daughter Dani had named one of her granddaughters Palma. She said: 'Do you know what I love? I love the name Palma. I said to Dani, 'Oh my god, why did we not name your little girls Palma. That's where my dad is from.' Peacemaker Jess and Danny's eldest daughter Dani, 28, who is due to marry West Ham Utd star Jared Bowen later this year even follow each other on Instagram and regularly message. Nowadays the pair are much more family friendly with Mark presenting his own show on Heart FM, and Danny starring in corporate Disney+ drama Rivals. A showbiz insider tells me: "Danny and Mark have both grown up a lot since the clash and don't have any bad blood. In fact, quite the opposite, they're both family men, who look out for their own and have a fair bit of respect for each other. "They're both self made and work hard to support their families. Danny thinks Jess is sweet as she always makes an effort to say hi and has a smile on her face. "They live fairly near to each other in Essex and see each other's clan at showbiz parties. "That's no bad blood, but that's not to say there wouldn't be a bit of banter on the football pitch if they ever get reunited at a charity football match, they both love football and have played for Soccer Aid before. "Essex blokes are always going to be full of bravado, but you can count on the women to be the peacemakers and smooth things over." Their bitter feud erupted over a decade ago, when movie hardman Danny, the Dyers' patriarch, bad-mouthed Mark during a 2013 interview while noting his utter disgust at once being mistaken for him and mocking his rival's lofty acting ambitions. Danny said: 'I got mistaken for Mark Wright once. In a café. It put me right off my beans. 'I don't know him, but he's everything I hate about this whole celebrity world. 'It's mainly because of some of his quotes saying he wants to be the next James Bond. If he's the next James Bond, it's over for me. It's the arrogance of it all — it irritates me.' 11 He added: 'Mark's not up my street. He'll never be a mate of mine. Good luck to him, just stay away from me.' Years later, during a charity football match, the fallout turned physical after Mark slapped Danny in a changing room. The ugly altercation was made public by Mark's brother Josh, who reacted to Danny having a fresh pop at the ex-Towie star, who is also a DJ on HeartFM and appeared in adverts for a yoghurt brand. Writing on Twitter, he joked: 'My worst nightmare would be listening to Heart FM while eating an Oykos yoghurt. It would be like p***ing razor blades.' Ex-footballer Josh replied: 'You must still be hurting from when Mark gave you a slap in the changing room that day. Get over it you melt.' Danny then informed his followers that the slap happened at a 'charity football match for terminally ill children' and accused Mark of hiding behind his dad after the slap. He added: 'What a geezer. My bird hits harder.' Josh replied: 'Not sure it happened like that mate, you ran your mouth as always and pushed him into corner so he protected himself by slapping you.' Danny responded: 'We all know what happened. He took a bang liberty. End of. He ain't a bit on me. Crack on.' Mark only got away with it, Danny said, as 'there was kids waiting outside with months to live'. But animosity between the pair really blew up in the battlegrounds of Chelmsford, at the 2016 V Festival, when the former EastEnders' favourite was attacked by five of Mark's pals in front of his daughter Love Island Dani, who was just 20 at the time, shocking fellow revellers swigging free booze in the event's notorious Louder Lounge VIP section. 11 'Complete carnage' Danny was enjoying his joint stag and hen do ahead of his wedding to wife Jo, 48, and was left with a nasty black eye. Mark was in the toilet at the time. The fight was allegedly sparked by Dani, who called Mark a 'c***'. A witness said: 'I saw a young woman shouting at three men, calling them c***s over and over again. 'She was screaming, 'Mark Wright is a c***!' 'Then Danny came round the corner to intervene and I saw him throw a punch at one of them.' Danny's onscreen son on EastEnders, Danny 'Boy' Hatchard, piled in and started throwing punches, as Dani continued with her verbal attack. Another eyewitness described the scenes as 'complete carnage'. Danny is not an aggressive person. He wouldn't have wanted to fight anyone. They've ganged up on him Jo Speaking about the incident at the time Jo said: 'Danny is not an aggressive person. He wouldn't have wanted to fight anyone. They've ganged up on him. 'There were five guys against one and Danny still went for them. But the most f***ing disgusting thing is it was all in front of my 20-year-old daughter. They're a bunch of talentless Essex t***s.' Mark attempted to play down the fight on social media, but Danny hit back: 'No. True. Where was ya?? Do you wanna declare who ya snakey 2 Bob mates are?? 'Especially the 1 squaring up to my Dani. No daughter should have 2 see their old man being toe-punted in the nut by 5 complete p****s.' Later, Danny shared a picture of Mark and a group of his friends, with the caption: 'Friends eh. How to ruin ya pals career before it had even started. Legends. Other than that I had a proper night. X.' Maybe we'll see them supporting their beloved West Ham together soon... 11

Towie star returning to reality TV for first time in four years as she signs big money deal for ITV show

A FORMER Towie star is making a return to reality TV after four years away - and fans are set to see a very different side to her. The 39-year-old was one of the original cast members when The Only Way Is Essex launched in 2010. 3 But Jess Wright 's last TV appearance was in 2021, when she allowed cameras to follow her and husband William Lee Kemp as they prepared for their wedding. And since welcoming son Presley in 2022, Jess has been focusing on being a mum - but now she's ready to make her telly comeback and has signed up for the next series of Cooking With The Stars, The Sun can reveal. An insider told us: 'Jess is finally back on reality TV after four years away - she's worked, obviously, but her most important role was being a mum. 'She's been cooking for her family but has never done a cooking show before so was nervous about signing up.' Despite her temporary break from TV, Jess has had her hands full since becoming a mum. Last year she shared that Presley has Bicuspid Aortic Valve, a congenital heart disease. Jess later shared an update and told how her little boy will need regular check ups going forward. Speaking to The Sun, Jess said: ' "He's good, it's an eight-to-twelve week check up for the foreseeable so it's going to be really tough. "It's been tough but I've had such an amazing response. When we first found out, we kept it to ourselves. "We were kind of grieving the news, which sounds really morbid, but it's something you have to accept and forever know that this is going to be life now.' Earlier this year Jess revealed she'd had a secret breast reduction, confessing she was 'sick of her big boobs'. She told us: 'My recommendation to any girl out there who has lovely boobs to begin with, which I did have, and I still do have, thank God, since having them out – don't have any implants. 'As I've gotten older, I was worried about having foreign bodies in my body. "I just got to the point where I didn't want anything in my body anymore, and if I ever have a daughter, I wouldn't want her to either.'
