Over 300 athletes attend 46th annual Special Olympic Winter Games
SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Over 300 Special Olympics Pennsylvania (SOPA) athletes will spend the next few days participating in competitions at Seven Springs Mountain Resort.
From snowboarding to alpine skiing, athletes, their coaches and volunteers from all across the state will be at the resort until Feb. 13 for the 46th annual Special Olympics Winter Games. Weeks of hard work and dedication in training are rewarded as athletes are cheered on and supported during competition by volunteers on the mountain.

This year's Winter Games also serves as preparation for the six athletes and two coaches competing in the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025. They will travel to Italy from March 8 to 15, alongside over 1,500 athletes from 103 countries, to compete for the gold.
