Washington continued their streak on Sunday with a 3-1 loss at home to the Miami Marlins as they suffered their ninth consecutive loss and were swept for their second consecutive series.
Because of this, Washington currently find themselves sitting fourth in the National League East standings with a 30-41 record that has them just one game ahead of the Marlins for last in the division.

Of course, the Nationals have been in a rebuild over the last few seasons and while they played well early on this year, they have hit a major rough patch in their schedule.
With their recent struggles, Washington made a massive decision after their loss to the Marlins on Sunday regarding one of their top prospects.

According to Nationals insider Jessica Camerato, Washington is calling up their No. 3 prospect Brady House for his major league debut.
House was the 11th overall pick in the 2021 draft by the Nationals and he will finally make the move to big leagues after putting together a great season thus far in Triple-A.
This season at the Triple-A level, the 22-year-old third baseman is batting .304 with 13 home runs and 41 RBIs while posting an .872 OPS.

Of course, Washington has struggled over the last few seasons at the third base position, especially this season with Paul DeJong still being out after being hit in the face with a pitch two months ago.

Outside of DeJong, the Nationals have used both Jose Tena and Amed Rosario to cover third base in his absence but they will now move up one of their top prospects in House to fill the position.
House will now join the rest of Washington's young core lead by James Wood, C.J. Abrams and Dylan Crews as the team tries to snap their losing streak on Monday as they start a series at home against the Colorado Rockies.
