Central Freshman Academy and Meadowlane Elementary School named State Schools of Character

PHENIX CITY, Ala. () — Two Phenix City Schools have been recognized for their commitment in fostering character development in their classrooms. According to Phenix City Schools, Central Freshman Academy and Meadowlane Elementary School were recognized as State Schools of Character. The two schools were recognized by which is a nationally recognized organization dedicated to promoting character development in schools and communities. A celebration will be hosted at each campus for their accomplishments: ● Central Freshman Academy on Friday, April 25 at 1:30 p.m.● Meadowlane Elementary on Thursday, May 8 at 1:00 p.m. 'This achievement did not happen by coincidence,' said Dr. Jessica Constanr, Assistant Superintendent of Phenix City Schools. 'It was the result of the tireless efforts of principals and the Schools of Character Team, who have done an impeccable job in creating a culture where character isn't just a lesson taught in the classroom, it's a way of life.' Phenix City Schools say schools across the country are evaluated by each year based on their performances. Central Freshman Academy and Meadowlane Elementary is proceeding to the next round of evaluation for consideration as National Schools of Character, which is the highest recognition granted by the organization.
