Upgraded buses give cyclists more travel options
Cyclists on Auckland's North Shore can finally take the bus across the Harbour Bridge. Buses in the city don't have bike racks - and the only public transport option cyclists have had to get across the harbour is to catch a ferry. RNZ reporter Jessica Hopkins tagged along on one of the 15 Auckland Transport's North Shore Express buses with the newly installed bike racks. Smith and Caughey's shutting down after 145 years
It's all over for Auckland's iconic department store Smith and Caughey's. Last year, the store permanently closed its Newmarket location and reduced its flagship Queen Street store to a single floor. Yesterday, the business announced it's shutting down completely after 145 years. Jessica Hopkins spoke to customers outside Smith and Caughey's who were shopping while they still can.
