Woman shot and killed by ex-husband near Desert Ridge Marketplace, Phoenix police say
A 39-year-old woman has died after the Phoenix police said she was shot by her ex-husband near the Desert Ridge Marketplace on June 18.
Jessica Shukers was shot at least once, the Phoenix Police Department said in a statement. Justin Creed, 38, was detained at the scene, the statement said.
Police responded to the scene around 9:40 p.m. in the area of Tatum Boulevard and Deer Valley Drive in north Phoenix.
Shukers died at the scene, the police said.
Creed was booked into jail on one count of murder, the police said.
The victim and suspect were previously married but divorced, the police said. Police are considering the homicide as a case of domestic violence.
The investigation is ongoing, the police said.
