Airline announces new winter flight route from Bournemouth Airport
and Jet2holidays have announced a significantly expanded winter sun programme for 2026/27 from Bournemouth Airport. In their second winter of operations from the airport, the airline and tour operator will offer 11 winter sun destinations, with a new winter route to Malaga. The new route will allow customers in the region to access the Spanish city for the first time next winter with Jet2. The company has put more than 110,000 seats on sale for next winter, an increase in capacity of more than 34 per cent compared to winter 2025/26. The expanded programme is in response to demand from holidaymakers wanting to escape the long British winter. The full Winter 2026/27 winter sun programme from Bournemouth Airport includes weekly services to Malaga, Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Alicante, Palma, Antalya, Faro, Madeira and Agadir. Steve Heapy, CEO of and Jet2holidays, said: "We are seeing continued demand from customers wanting to escape the long British winter, so we have stepped in and put our Winter 26/27 programme on sale from Bournemouth Airport. "The launch of our most exciting winter sun programme comes in just our second winter of operations from our newest base. "We are delighted to be launching a brand-new winter route to Malaga and giving customers and independent travel agents even more choice and flexibility for next winter. "As ever, we have designed our programme in direct response to ongoing demand from holidaymakers in the south of England, Bournemouth, Southampton, Portsmouth and the wider region, and this expansion demonstrates just how popular our flights and holidays continue to be." During peak periods, the airline and tour operator will operate more than 20 weekly outbound flights. "With capacity increased by a third and more than 20 weekly outbound flights, passengers have even more choice and flexibility from Bournemouth, reflecting the growing demand for winter travel from across the region."

In all, hundreds of thousands of seats are on sale across winter sun destinations in the Canary Islands (Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura), Mainland Spain (Alicante and Malaga), Portugal (Faro and Madeira), Turkey (Antalya), Majorca (Palma) and Morocco (Agadir) and during peak periods, the airline and tour operator will operate over 20 weekly outbound flights. As demand from holidaymakers looking to escape the long British winter drives yet another year of growth, and Jet2holidays have put over 110,000 seats on sale for next winter. This represents a capacity increase of more than 34% when compared to Winter 25/26. The release of the programme today comes in response to demand from holidaymakers looking to book ahead and enjoy some winter sunshine. It also makes and Jet2holidays the first airline and major tour operator to go on sale with Winter 26/27, giving customers and independent travel agents the opportunity to book their place in the sun for next winter early. And from Glasgow, there will also be two additional services to Rome on the same dates (February 5 and 8), further enhancing choice on top of an existing schedule which sees departures on Monday and Friday.
