How close are we to the truth on JFK? Oliver Stone and author explain how there is much to uncover
Director Oliver Stone and author Jim DiEugenio recounted their years of research into the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy and why it should be reexamined earlier this week on Fox News. Stone, who directed "JFK Revisited: Through the Looking Glass," recently made a case to Congress to re-open the investigation and pour over everything from the crime scene, the rifle and bullets, the autopsy and more. What The Jfk Documents Reveal About Lee Harvey Oswald The 80,000 pages of Kennedy files were released March 18, opening a trove of insight into what could prove or disprove how Kennedy was killed in Dallas, Texas, on Nov. 22, 1963. Stone explained during the congressional hearing that he had encountered previous roadblocks for his 1991 film "JFK" with the CIA, questioning the agency's handling of the files he had requested regarding the assassination. "Although mandated by law from the Central Intelligence Agency, which operated and still operates as a taxpayer-funded intelligence agency that arrogantly considered itself outside our laws, they say things like, 'We will get back to you on that,' and they never do," Stone told Congress. Read On The Fox News App Stone told Fox News on Wednesday that the "spirit" of the law, being the Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992, is that the CIA would only release the files with a national security exception. "This is a question of national security, and it just keeps getting delayed and kicked around," Stone said on "Jesse Watters Primetime." DiEugenio, who wrote "JFK Revisited: Through the Looking Glass," touched on the order in October 2017, when President Donald Trump directed agencies to reevaluate redactions and disclose any information that no longer warranted withholding. These orders for disclosure were subsequently delayed by the Biden administration in 2021, 2022 and 2023, according to a White House fact sheet. "Instead of declassifying everything like he said he [Trump] wanted to do, he ended up delaying it, alright? And he even delayed it into the Biden administration," DiEugenio said, adding that the Biden administration worsened the issue. Lawmakers Cheer Trump's Jfk Files Release: 'Restoration Of The People's Trust' DiEugenio praised Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., for taking a "legislative attack on this subject," saying he was hopeful that with people working on it from multiple angles, Americans will "finally" be able to access all documents on the JFK assassination. "I really hope that between both of these angles, we finally will get every last piece of paper on this case that's haunted America for the last six decades," he said. 'JFK' director Oliver Stone calls on Congress to reopen investigation into Kennedy assassination
Filmmaker Oliver Stone urged legislators in Washington, D.C., Tuesday to reopen the investigation into the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and reassess everything from the crime scene to the courtroom, including the rifle and bullets used, fingerprints and the autopsy. President Donald Trump issued an executive order since returning to the Oval Office in January to release the long-concealed materials about the assassination of Kennedy and records on the assassinations of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The 80,000 pages of JFK files were released March 18, giving experts and conspiracy theorists a trove of material to prove or disprove how Kennedy was killed in Dallas, Texas, Nov. 22, 1963. In his opening statements Tuesday, Stone, whose 1991 film "JFK" examined the investigation into Kennedy's assassination, raised an issue with the CIA's handling of files he requested to see regarding the assassination. Trump Announces He Will Release 80,000 Jfk Assassination Files On Tuesday, Going To Be 'Very Interesting' "Although mandated by law from the Central Intelligence Agency, which operated and still operates as a taxpayer-funded intelligence agency that arrogantly considered itself outside our laws," Stone said, "they say things like, 'We will get back to you on that,' and they never do. Read On The Fox News App "Nothing of importance has been revealed by the CIA in all these years," he continued, adding other records show illegal criminal activities in every facet of U.S. foreign policy in nearly every country on Earth. "Just to begin, Cuba, Vietnam, Indonesia, Egypt, South America, the Middle East. We could write a whole separate history of our country from the viewpoint of the countries, yet we do not know and are not allowed to know anything about the CIA's true history of the United States, which is almost, I believe, the real story." He then called for the Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets, chaired by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., to reopen the investigation into Kennedy's assassination, picking up what the Warren Commission failed to do. Weeks After Epstein File Fallout, A New Deadline Looms In The Release Of The Rfk And Mlk Files The Warren Commission, after an investigation, found no evidence that Lee Harvey Oswald or Oswald's assassin, Jack Ruby, were part of any conspiracy, domestic or foreign, to kill the president. It said at the time that one bullet that struck Kennedy passed through him and struck Texas Gov. John Connally, hitting his back, thigh, chest and wrist. Critics of the commission's findings call it the "magic bullet theory." "I ask the committee to reopen what the Warren Commission failed miserably to complete," Stone said. "I ask you in good faith, outside all political considerations, to reinvestigate the assassination of this President Kennedy, from the scene of the crime to the courtroom … which never happened, but which means the chain of custody on the rifle, the bullets, the fingerprints, the autopsy that defies belief, and that if it were a murder, we'd have given to the poorest man dying in a gutter. "Let us reinvestigate the fingerprints of intelligence all over Lee Harvey Oswald, from 1959 to 1960 – his violent death in 1963 — and, most importantly, this CIA, whose muddy footprints are all over this case, a true interrogation." Fbi Uncovers Thousands Of Undisclosed Records Connected To Jfk's Assassination Stone spoke about Deputy CIA Director James Angleton, who, before he died, talked about Allen Dulles, Richard Helms and others he referred to as the "Grand Masters." "He did say, 'If you were in a room with them, you were in a room full of people that you had to believe would deservedly end up in hell. I guess I will see them soon,'" Stone said. "This is our democracy. This is our presidency. It belongs to us. Treat us with respect." Stone said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter in January that Trump deserved "praise" for the order to release the JFK assassination files. Despite pleas to open the investigation, the FBI notes on its website that after conducting some 25,000 interviews and running down tens of thousands of investigative leads, "the FBI found that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone." Oswald was killed shortly after the Kennedy assassination. Oliver Stone to testify at JFK files House hearing
Filmmaker Oliver Stone will be one of the witnesses at a Tuesday congressional hearing regarding the recent release of materials pertaining to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The long-concealed materials on the assassination of the American president were released after President Donald Trump issued an executive order that also called for a plan to release records on the assassinations of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Stone, who was behind the 1991 film "JFK," said in a statement given to the Hollywood Reporter in January that Trump deserved "praise" for the order regarding release of the JFK assassination files. Oliver Stone Says 'Lawfare' Being Used Against Trump: 'New Form Of Warfare' "Those files should have been released in October of 2017. President Trump deserves further credit for going beyond that, and ordering the release of still classified files on the Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy assassinations," Stone said in the statement, according to the outlet. "No one expects there to be a smoking gun 'he did it' document in those files. But from what previous writers understand, there will be information that will contribute to a more informed mosaic of what happened in those cases," Stone noted. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963. "After conducting some 25,000 interviews and running down tens of thousands of investigative leads, the FBI found that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone," the federal law enforcement agency notes on its website. But Oswald was killed shortly after the Kennedy assassination. Lawmakers Cheer Trump's Jfk Files Release: 'Restoration Of The People's Trust' "By investigating the newly released JFK files, consulting experts, and tracking down surviving staff of various investigative committees, our task force will get to the bottom of this mystery and share our findings with the American people," said Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., chair of the Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets, in a press release. "Our hearing is the first step and we look forward to hearing from our witnesses."Original article source: Oliver Stone to testify at JFK files House hearing

UFO expert says Trump's declassification could expose possible 'cover-up' spanning decades
An expert on UFOs says President Donald Trump's move to declassify decades-old government files on UFOs could reveal a potential "cover-up" and expose many federal secrets. "The government for decades has investigated UFOs. I think it's undeniable that the government has looked at this for decades. They've had multiple programs," former U.K. Defense Ministry official and UFO expert Nick Pope told Fox News Digital. "A lot of people believe that there is a smoking gun somewhere in the files. It is a very widely held belief that elements in the U.S. intelligence community know that some of this is extraterrestrial and have documents and files relating to this. And that, of course, is what everyone really wants to know. That's the $64,000 question," Pope said. The CIA told Fox News Digital it "has made records available to the public for decades and they can be accessed on our website. We would refer further guidance to the DOD and DNI." Fox News Digital reached out to the Department of Defense and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. Fbi Uncovers Thousands Of Undisclosed Records Connected To Jfk's Assassination Pope added the big question on many Americans' minds is what's going on and is any of this extraterrestrial? Read On The Fox News App "I think this is where President Trump's instincts come into play because I think we've seen in this second term that he's moving much more quickly than in the first term. And he's recognizing things that are not necessarily flagged up in the opinion polls as big election issues, which obviously focus on the big things like the economy and the border. But he's got that kind of popular touch," Pope said. "He understands. He's got his finger on the pulse of what ordinary Americans are interested in and want." Pope shared that some of the intel in the files could hold information about real threats to our country. Anna Paulina Luna To Lead Task Force On Declassification Of Jfk Assassination Records, Epstein Client List "It's definitely a threat or a potential threat, particularly because the pilots, the radar operators, the intelligence community personnel who've looked at some of these cases consistently say that these things are displaying speeds, maneuvers and accelerations that make the best of our aircraft look like kids' toys," Pope explained. "So, an adversary has made a quantum leap, in which case the United States needs to know about that and close the gap pretty darn quickly. Or is there something else in our skies?" Pope shared that Trump has been briefed on these files and understands the American people have a "deep desire" to know what is going on and where their money is being invested, mentioning that rumors have spread through open hearings in Congress where whistleblowers have testified about the existence of legacy, intelligence, community and unacknowledged special access programs looking at UFOs, going back decades to Roswell in 1947. "If these rumors are true, and, like I said, people have testified, people who are who they say they are have testified under oath in Congress that this is all real, that we have recovered craft and even bodies. If this is true, and this is a cover-up, this conspiracy has been going on for nearly 80 years. How many billions of dollars of taxpayers' money has gone into trying to keep this secret, trying to figure out what this technology is?" Pope said. Pope referred to Republicans and Democrats working together on this in Congress and the creation of a new oversight task force focused on the declassification of materials in the public interest, including the client list of Jeffrey Epstein, files relating to Sept. 11, 2001, COVID-19 origins, UFOs and more. "I'm not saying this is going to be UAP specific, but, clearly, any oversight task force may get into UAP as well. This is showing how fast-moving this whole subject is and how much interest there is in it," Pope said. This comes in response to Trump signing an executive order to declassify files on the assassinations of former President John F. Kennedy, his brother Robert F. Kennedy and civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr. "He (Trump) obviously is going to have his legacy written large for all sorts of great reasons. But this would be the icing on the cake. And, surely, no president could resist that. I mean, to be the disclosure president that would be amazing," Pope said. Trump Vows Answers On Mystery Drone Sightings As Expert Makes Eerie Prediction "Everyone else has been picking away at the knot. He will just cut through it. And maybe Elon Musk will help him with this. If there is this multi-decade conspiracy, they will find it. They will expose it, and they will release it to the people. "It's an issue that kind of would unite everyone, I think, because who wouldn't be interested in this?" Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., will lead the new task force focused on the declassification of federal secrets and other documents in the public interest. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., appointed Luna to chair the Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets. "For too long, the federal government has kept information of public interest classified, and the American people are demanding greater transparency. This secrecy has sowed distrust in our institutions," Comer told Fox News Digital. He noted that the task force will "build on the Trump administration's efforts to declassify records of national importance and ensure Americans get the answers they deserve." "Rep. Luna is committed to shining a light on the truth and ending the era of secrecy," Comer said. "It's time to let the sunlight in and finally provide answers the American public has long demanded." Luna told Fox News Digital the task force is expected to announce members of the team in the coming weeks. "We will work alongside President Trump and his Cabinet members to deliver truth to the American people," she said. "From this moment forward, we will restore trust through transparency."
