London-Based Al-Qaeda Ideologue: Military Rule In Egypt Antagonizes Islam And Shari'a, Egypt Must Be Liberated From 'Army Of Mischief'; 'It Is Either Islam, Or The Military'

The following report is now a complimentary offering from MEMRI's Jihad and Terrorism Threat Monitor (JTTM). For JTTM subscription information, click here . On April 13, 2025, the "Nahar Al-Da'wah [River of Preaching]" Telegram channel, which is affiliated with London-based Egyptian Al-Qaeda ideologue Hani Al-Siba'i, reposted a summary of a lecture titled "The Republic of Militar-istan and Egypt's Army of Mischief," accusing the government of Egypt of antagonizing Muslims and secularizing public life. Al-Siba'i called on Muslims to liberate Egypt, arguing that the country is a land of Islam and will remain as such. [1] "Egypt Will Never Enjoy Security As Long As President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi And His Military Clique Are In Power" Al-Siba'i began the lecture, which was also shared on the cleric's website "Risalat Widd" [2] and his personal account on X (formerly Twitter), [3] by saying that Egypt will never enjoy security as long as President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi and his military clique are in power, protecting the edifices of secularism and allowing all sorts of assaults on Islam and Muslims. The Egyptian army, he stated, is an army of mischief that occupies Egypt, and which turned it into a den of malice, treason, and immorality. According to Al-Siba'i, exposing the military junta and its henchmen: the judiciary, media, imams, priests, and all the misguided who blindly who follow every loudmouth, is "a religious necessity," noting that Egypt's military does not fight for the sake of Allah, but rather for the sake of America and the enemies of Islam. "Does it support and befriend the believers? Or does it support and cozy up to the nonbelievers? This army, since its founding, has been hostile to Islam and stands against the empowerment of Islamic shari'a," he added. "The Egyptian Army Besieges Muslims In Egypt, Libya, Palestine, Syria, And Elsewhere" He further explained that the military has always been hostile to Muslims: "It fights them, kills them, and conspires against them! It is an army that befriends and supports the believers, protects their interests, and besieges Muslims in Egypt, Libya, Palestine, Syria, and elsewhere." Citing a Quran verse to corroborate the religious designation of an army that allies with non-Islamic parties against Muslims, the cleric states that it is manifestly clear that the Egyptian army fights for causes other than Islam, and it therefore meets the divine command to the believers to fight it. "Liberate Your Country From The Army Of Mischief" He calls on the people of Egypt to disassociate from the "criminal sect" of the army and the police, saying that the name of Egypt under the rule of the military has become synonymous with atheism, polytheism, hypocrisy, and debauchery, and urges them to act to change the form of government in Egypt. "Oh Muslims in Egypt, liberate your country from the army of mischief! Liberate your country from militarism! Egypt is not the land of the military. It is the bastion of Islam and will remain so... Hold your head high, you are a Muslim. Islam is supreme and nothing is superior to it. Say it loudly and do not hesitate." "It is either Islam, or the military," he declares.

Iran-Backed Ansar Allah Movement (Houthis) Condemns Trump's 'Clean Out' Gaza Plan, Accuses U.S. Of Attempting To 'Eliminate Palestinian Identity,' Calls For A 'Just' Resolution

The following report is now a complimentary offering from MEMRI's Jihad and Terrorism Threat Monitor (JTTM). For JTTM subscription information, click here . On January 25, 2025, President Donald Trump stated that he had spoken to the king of Jordan to urge that country to admit more Palestinians, suggesting that Gazans should leave the Gaza Strip to "clean out" the enclave. In his comment, Trump said that Egypt, as well, could be among the countries to accept more Palestinian refugees. [1] On January 28, Yemen's Ansar Allah Movement (Houthis)-linked Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates issued a statement condemning, in the strongest terms, what it referred to as the U.S. administration's attempts to "displace" the Gazans. [2] The statement reflected the Houthis' political stance on the Palestinian issue. Condemnation Of "Forced" Displacement, Affirmation Of Palestinian "Resilience" In a statement, the Houthi Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned alleged attempts by the U.S. to facilitate the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza. The statement asserted that one of the primary objectives of the Israeli military campaign in Gaza was the removal of Palestinians from their land. The Ministry emphasized that the Israelis' assumed intention had been unsuccessful due to the resilience and awareness of the Palestinians: "The forced displacement of the Palestinian people was one of the objectives of the Zionist entity's aggression against Gaza. However, this plan was thwarted by the resilience and awareness of the Palestinians." The statement pointed out the determination of Gazans by glorifying scenes of thousands returning to their destroyed homes "despite the devastation." This act, according to the statement, symbolized their unwavering connection to their land and their refusal to accept another large-scale displacement: "The sight of thousands of Gazans returning to their destroyed homes on foot - despite the devastation caused by the Zionist killing machine, carrying their whole lives in their hands- demonstrates the Palestinians' deep attachment to their land, despite the immense sacrifices they have made. At the same time, this sends a powerful message that another Nakba for the Palestinian people cannot be allowed to happen." Call For International Support, A Just Resolution The Ministry acknowledged and praised international and regional voices opposing Palestinian displacement. It called upon the global community, particularly Arab and Islamic nations, to actively support Palestinian resilience against plans aimed at undermining their national cause. The statement frames such support as essential to counter efforts to eliminate Palestinian identity: "We praise the declarations rejecting attempts to displace the Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip. We call on the international community -particularly Arab and Islamic nations- to support Palestinian resilience in the face of these plans aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause." Additionally, the statement reiterates that true peace in the region cannot be achieved without addressing the root cause of the conflict: "Israeli occupation." It asserts that a just resolution requires the establishment of a Palestinian state and the restoration of Palestinian rights. "Achieving peace in the region can only come through ending the Zionist occupation, establishing a Palestinian state, and restoring the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to return." The Houthis concluded the statement by reaffirming "the unwavering position of the Republic of Yemen in supporting the Palestinian people, their steadfast resistance, and their just cause."
