News 9 helicopter pilot Jim Gardner retiring after decade with OKC station
SkyNews 9 pilot Jim Gardner is officially retiring after 40 years as a pilot and over a decade with News 9, the station reported.
Gardner joined the News 9 team in 2013 and has since contributed to the station's coverage by capturing breaking news and weather events.
'I couldn't have asked for a better group of folks to work with,' Gardner told News 9 this week.
According to News 9, Gardern's career started in Burbank, California, where he transported numerous celebrities and worked on film and photo projects. From there, he joined KCAL in Hollywood, which led to his coverage of several cases, including the high-profile O.J. Simpson car chase in 1994.
Gardner returned to Oklahoma in 1999 before joining the News 9 team in 2013.
