St. Patrick's Committee of Holyoke, American Legion host annual Irish flag raising
HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – The city of Holyoke held its annual Irish flag raising Sunday afternoon with the help of the parade Grand Marshal and Colleen court.

The event was hosted by the American Legion Post 325 in collaboration with the St. Patrick's Committee of Holyoke. Jim Lavelle will be serving as the 2025 Grand Marshal of the 72nd Holyoke St. Patrick's Parade. He had the honor of climbing the ladder and raising the Irish flag at the ceremony.
'I'm very honored to be considered for the award. I'm very happy to follow in my father's footsteps, who served as Grand Marshal several years ago,' said Lavelle.
Another Irish flag raising will be held on March 1st at 10:00 a.m. by the ancient order of Hibernians at Holyoke City Hall. All are welcome to attend.
