The Trailhead in Peoria announces new restaurants and retailers
A major development project that could help transform north Peoria has a bevy of new restaurants and retailers coming in.
State of play: Crust Simply Italian, Jinya Ramen Bar, Einstein Bros. Bagels and Robeks Fresh Juices and Smoothies are slated to open at The Trailhead, developers announced this week.
Einstein and Robeks open this month, Jinya will open next month, DIP Nail Bar, V's Barbershop and Pac Dental are slated to open in the spring, and Crust is expected to open next year.
Sparrow, an American-themed restaurant from the creators of Squid Ink that developers announced last year, is expected to open this summer or early fall.
Safeway opened at The Trailhead in October; Eye Studio Peoria and AZ Vitality med-spa opened last month.
The big picture: The area around 83rd Avenue and Happy Valley Road, where The Trailhead is located, is sparsely populated but growing quickly.
New employers and projects like Amkor Technology Inc. and the Peoria Innovation Core are likely to fuel continued growth in north Peoria, which is also near the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. plant in north Phoenix.
What's next: In addition to more eateries, which developer Jim Pederson expects to announce in the next few months, future phases of The Trailhead will include a church, housing and other amenities.
