Astrologer reveals what May has in store for YOUR star sign - and why the 'micromoon' spells bad news for Libra and Gemini
As we reach the start of May, a mixture of meteor showers, a Micromoon and potential luck in your love life due to Neptune is on the cards, so astrologers say.
While several star signs will experience the urge to book an exciting new trip around the world, razor sharp intuition and confidence, others are in for a rough month.
The Micromoon, which takes place on May 12, will bring luck to Cancers' social circle and inspire Pisces to lean into their creative visions.
However, Gemini and Libra are at risk of celestial chaos because of the moon, which threatens to disrupt their work-life balance and stir up drama in their lives.
Sagittarius will benefit from the Eta Aquariid meteor shower as it will prompt them to want to open their minds up and travel.
But Scorpios may be in trouble in May if they let their short fuse get the better of them.
'May is all about movement - emotionally, creatively, and literally,' says astrologer Joanne Jones from Trusted Psychics.
'But not every sign gets a smooth ride this month. Whether you're chasing dreams or dodging drama, knowing where the stars stand gives you a real edge.'
The lucky star signs
Taurus (April 20 - May 20)
Joanne says that because it is Taurus birthday season you may be feeling more confident within yourself and everyone else can see it.
'With Venus, your ruling planet, turning direct, everything from flirty messages to money matters starts flowing again,' she said
'Expect compliments, cash, and maybe even a cheeky proposal. This is your main character moment so live it up.'
Cancer (June 21 - July 22)
May's Micromoon will mean that Cancers will get a boost in their social circle, so Joanne says to get ready for 'party invites, fun connections, and a few surprise reunions.'
'You'll be radiating warmth, and people will be drawn to your energy. Whether it's networking or romantic mingling, you'll be magnetic this month, so don't stay home unless you're hosting.'
Virgo (August 23 - September 22)
The astrologer says that Mercury, the ruling for Virgos is 'finally behaving' which means you may feel as though you have a sharper mind and are able to communicate more effectively in this upcoming month.
'This means now is the perfect time to pitch ideas, sign contracts, or finally sort out that awkward situation you've been avoiding,' Joanna said.
'You're more likely to be clear-headed and strategic - basically, unstoppable, so use your words, Virgo - they'll get results.'
Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)
Sagittarius may experience the feeling to book a trip and experience a new place due to the Eta Aquariid meteor shower, which is active between 19 April and 28 May.
'Whether it's a literal adventure or a mental one, you're craving expansion and deeper meaning,' Joanne said.
'Big ideas, bold moves, and spontaneous plans are all favoured so just go, the universe has your back.'
Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)
With Neptune and Venus becoming closer earlier in the month, it could mean your love life may feel like a 'dreamy rom-com'.
The star sign expert said: 'Expect sweet surprises, emotional clarity, and maybe a big artistic breakthrough. You'll be feeling sentimental, but it will suit you so don't fight it, lean right into the feels.'
Pisces (February 19 - March 20)
Pisces will experience 'psychic-level strong' intuition this month, so Joanne says it is important to trust your gut feeling.
'The Micromoon could also inspire a huge creative project or bring clarity to an emotional situation,' she said.
'It's giving "aha moment" energy, making it the perfect time to let your imagination run wild, it could take you somewhere real.'
... And the unlucky star signs
Aries (March 21 - April 19)
Aries will feel a little too 'fired up' this month due to Mars being located near the moon in early May.
Joanne says: 'Your moods could swing faster than your group chat replies so channel that energy into workouts or projects, not petty arguments. Not every battle is worth your time this month.'
Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
While Gemini season is approaching, the air sign might experience some drama due to the Micromoon.
Joanne said: 'Secrets could surface or emotions you've buried might make a comeback meaning it's best to take a beat before reacting - not every thought needs to be [said]. You'll thank yourself later.'
Leo (July 23 - August 22)
Money is a key topic for Leo this month as Joanne senses an unpredictable energy around the sign's finances.
She added: It's not the best time to splurge on a holiday or a new wardrobe even if it's on sale. Focus on saving, not showing off. Glamorous outfits can wait, stability can't.
Libra (September 23 - October 22)
Like Gemini, the Micromoon will also stir up trouble with regard to your work-life balance in May.
Joanne said: 'You might feel pulled in too many directions, especially by people-pleasing habits.
'This month, saying no could be your superpower so protect your peace. You can't pour from an empty cup.'
Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)
As Mars is entering a challenging position, it will likely mess with the water sign's fuse and might become more frustrated than usual.
Joanne said: 'You may find yourself snapping at people or brooding more than usual so try to breathe before you bite. Channel the drama into something productive.'
Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)
Career pressure is likely on the cards for Capricorns in May, especially if you have already been burning the candle at both ends.
'Work stress or family tension could particularly push your buttons this month, so it's time to stop acting like a robot and schedule actual rest,' Joanne said. 'Even high achievers need a lie-in sometimes.'
