Michelle Keegan pays emotional tribute to 'special' show axed after 7 years
Michelle Keegan has posted an emotional and heartfelt tribute to her Sky comedy Brassic as it prepares to air its final-ever series after seven years on our screens Actress Michelle Keegan has bid an emotional farewell to Sky comedy Brassic ahead of the show's final series. The 37-year-old stars as Erin in the award-winning comedy, which follows petty criminal Vinnie O'Neill and the various shenanigans he gets up to with his friends in the fictional northern town of Hawley. Creator and star Joe Gilgun announced last year that the show would be ending after its seventh series and with filming now over, Michelle has paid tribute to the series in a gushing Instagram post. "Goodbye Erin," she wrote alongside a crying emoji. "So finally the Brassic journey has come to an end (feels so strange saying that) and what an unbelievable 7 years it's been. I feel so privileged to have been a small part of such a mighty show. "From the moment I read the 1st script I knew this job was going to be special & it definitely was. Thank you to everyone who worked on the show over the years for the laughs, friendship and more importantly the memories… What a magical 7 years we had." Alongside the heartfelt caption, Michelle shared a carousel of behind-the-scenes photos and videos from set of her with the rest of the cast. Joe Gilgun created the show with Shameless writer Danny Brocklehurst. When it was announced in January that the series was coming to an end. Brocklehurst said: 'When Joe Gilgun and I sat down to create Brassic, we couldn't have imagined, in our wildest dreams, that we would do seven series and gather such a loyal and loving fan base. 'It's been a complete joy to create this eccentric world, but all good things must come to an end, and we want to stop while we are still riding high. Maybe they can finally give us that Bafta.' Since the first series began in 2019, it has been nominated for four TV Baftas with all nods for Joe for male performance in a comedy, and National Television Awards. Earlier this year, Michelle welcomed her first daughter with husband Mark Wright. The pair took to Instagram to announce the birth of baby Palma in March. "Together we have a new love to share... Our little girl," they wrote followed by a white heart emoji. They then added: "Palma Elizabeth Wright" followed by her date of birth "06.03.25". Fans flooded the comments with congratulatory messages, including Mark's sister Jess Wright who wrote: "Most beautiful addition to our family. I finally have a niece and I am so in love." Meanwhile, one fan wrote: "Oh what beautiful news!!! Congratulations to you both darling!" and a second posted: "Awwww congratulations!" At the weekend, Jess - who described the couple as "incredible parents" - revealed the The Mirror that she isn't offering to babysit her niece Palma just yet. When asked whether she'd offered to babysit, Jess said: "Not quite!" She went on to share that her son - who turns three later this month - keeps her busy enough. She said: "Presley keeps me on my toes enough."

Michelle Keegan has revealed that filming has wrapped on Brassic 's seventh and final series, as she bid an emotional farewell to the show on Monday. The actress, 37, has played Erin Croft in the Sky series since 2019, and in an emotional Instagram post, she paid tribute to the 'small and mighty series' for playing such a 'special' part in her life. Michelle, who briefly returned to work to film her last scenes after giving birth to her daughter Palma in March, shared a gallery of snaps from her time in the series, including plenty of images with the rest of the Hawley gang. The show, which focused on petty criminal Vinny (played by co-creator Joe Gilgun) and his gang of thieves attempting to get by in the fictional northern town, will broadcast its final series later this year. She captioned her post: 'Goodbye Erin… 'So finally the Brassic journey has come to an end (feels so strange saying that) and what an unbelievable seven years it's been. Brassic's blend of slaptick comedy and farcical action sequences has cemented it as one of the nation's favourite modern comedies. Leading man and producer Joseph Gilgun has been outspoken about ensuring the show is a warm and sympathetic portrayal of working class life and friendship. Brassic follows the lives of a group of friends in a fictional town named Hawley, led by Joe's character Vinnie and featuring single mum Erin, played by Michelle. The show has been airing on Sky since 2019, however the first four series' also debuted on Netflix in August and were a huge success.

Michelle Keegan returns to Brassic set with husband Mark Wright and daughter
Michelle Keegan has been spotted on the set of Brassic along with her husband Mark Wright and their baby daughter. The actress was snapped at the Sharp Project in Manchester on her way to film her final scenes as Erin on the comedy. Keegan is followed by her husband Mark, of TOWIE fame, who can be seen holding onto their child Palma who was born in March. The pair made headlines late last year when they announced Keegan's pregnancy in a joint statement. The couple wrote that 2025 was "going to be a special one" for them and the announcement was accompanied by a photo revealing Michelle's baby bump. The Corrie actress plays Erin on the popular original comedy, Brassic. It follows the lives of Vinnie - played by Joe Gilgun - and his group of friends in the fictional Lancashire town of Hawley. Michelle is on set to film what will be the seventh season of the show which is set to be its last. Cast members confirmed to be returning for season 7 include Joe Gilgun, Ryan Sampson, Michelle Keegan, Aaron Heffernan, Parth Thakerar, Joanna Higson and Steve Evets. Speaking about the the final series of the show, Danny Brocklehurst, Brassic's co-creator and writer, said: "When Joe Gilgun and I sat down to create Brassic, we couldn't have imagined, in our wildest dreams, that we would do seven series and gather such a loyal and loving fan base. "It's been a complete joy to create this eccentric world, but all good things must come to an end, and we want to stop while we are still riding high. Maybe they can finally give us that BAFTA!"
