Gulf County's 100th: Free events, music, and fireworks celebration
GULF COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – It's a celebration a century in the making, Gulf County is turning 100, and the entire community is invited to join in on the festivities. The county will be hosting a week-long celebration honoring its history, culture, and coastal charm with a lineup of events for all ages. On Thursday, Gulf County, Florida Tourism joined the Gulf County Chamber of Commerce to discuss their plans. The party kicks off Monday, June 2, with live music, a time capsule ceremony, and local eats. World Changers, Panama City CRA unite for community service The week will be filled with live music, themed cocktail events, fireworks, movie nights, and more. 'Every one of these events are free. We want to invite everyone to come down and celebrate with us, whether you're from Gulf County or you come down here and vacation, or you just drive over from Panama City,' Chamber of Commerce CEO Joe Whitmer said. Port St. Joe's ‘Blues on Reid' festival offers free live music
PORT ST. JOE, Fla. (WMBB) – The streets of downtown Port St. Joe will be filled with the sounds of amazing music as 'Blues on Reid' returns for another year. On Saturday, March 22nd residents from all over will have the chance to hear five different bands perform completely free of charge. Along with all the live music the businesses along and around Reid Ave. will be open throughout the festival for people to shop at. That is one of the main reasons why 'Blues on Reid' consistently returns to Port St. Joe as it serves as a way to bring the community and local businesses closer together. Sweet Baby's Farm hosts first-ever Spring Fling event 'The first reason is that's what the Chamber of Commerce does,' Gulf County Chamber of Commerce CEO Joe Whitmer said. 'It connects people with businesses, and there's no better way to connect these than really to provide a free event in town.' The live musical performances will begin around noon Eastern time on Saturday and wrap up around 7:30 p.m. Following the entertainment, an after-party will be hosted at the Taproom on Highway 98 for anyone who wants to keep the good times going.
